How to check New York Unemployment claim status online?
I filed my claim and need to check the status. I keep logging into my account but cant find where to see if my claim was approved or not. The website is so confusing. Anyone know where to look on the website to find claim status?

You gotta log into your account and click on 'Unemployment Services' then look for 'View Payment History'. That shows your payment status and if your claim is approved. But sometimes it takes a few days to show up there after you file.

I was having the same problem trying to check my status. I ended up using claimyr.com to get through to an agent on the phone. It costs $20 but they handle the hold time and got me answers right away. Here's a video about how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•100% legit, they actually got me through to someone in like 45 mins when I was trying for weeks

Here's what you need to do: 1. Log in to your NY.gov ID account 2. Click on 'My Online Services' 3. Select 'Unemployment Insurance' 4. Look for 'View Payment History' 5. Check 'Claim Status' section If nothing shows up after 3 business days, you probably need to call them. I recommend using claimyr.com to get through - saved me hours of hold time. Also make sure you're certifying weekly while waiting for approval. Keep screenshots of everything just in case.

Just went through this same headache last month! If you're still having trouble finding it after following the steps others mentioned, try this: sometimes the claim status shows up under "Benefit Programs" instead of "Unemployment Services" depending on when you filed. Also check if you have any messages in your inbox - they sometimes put important claim updates there instead of the main status page. The whole system is honestly a mess but hang in there! 🤞

I had the exact same issue! The NY unemployment website is seriously confusing. What worked for me was going to the main dashboard after logging in, then looking for "Unemployment Insurance Online" (not just "Unemployment Services"). From there I clicked on "View and Maintain Account Information" and my claim status was under the "Monetary Determination" section. It took about 5 business days after filing to show up there though. If you're still not seeing anything, definitely try calling - I know it's a pain but sometimes that's the only way to get real answers. Hope this helps! 🤞

•Thank you so much for the detailed breakdown! I've been struggling with this for days and your step-by-step instructions are super helpful. Going to try the "Monetary Determination" section route - never would have thought to look there. Really appreciate you taking the time to explain it clearly! 🙏

Had this exact same problem when I first filed! The NY unemployment site is seriously confusing to navigate. What finally worked for me was going to the main page after logging in, then clicking "Unemployment Insurance Online" and looking under "Payment History" - but it can take up to a week to show your actual claim status there. If you're still not seeing anything, try checking the "Messages" section too because sometimes they put updates there instead of the main dashboard. The whole system is pretty broken tbh but don't give up! Also make sure you keep doing your weekly certifications even while waiting for approval status.

•This is super helpful! I'm dealing with the same frustrating situation right now. Just tried your suggestion about checking the "Messages" section and found some updates I totally missed before. The weekly certification tip is clutch too - I was worried about doing those before getting approval but good to know I should keep going. Thanks for sharing your experience! 🙌

Ugh I feel your pain! The NY unemployment website is honestly terrible. I just went through this nightmare last week. After trying everything everyone else mentioned, what finally worked for me was logging in and going to "Online Services" then "Unemployment Insurance Benefits" and looking for "Claim Summary" - sometimes it's buried under there instead of the obvious places. Also pro tip: if you filed recently, it can take up to 10 business days for your status to actually show up anywhere on the site, even though they don't tell you that anywhere 🙄 Keep screenshots of everything and don't stop doing your weekly certifications while you wait!

•This is so helpful, thank you! I'm literally going through this exact same frustration right now. Just tried looking under "Claim Summary" like you suggested and finally found some info I couldn't locate before. The 10 business day timeline is really good to know - I was starting to panic thinking something went wrong since it's only been 6 days for me. Really appreciate you mentioning the weekly certifications too, I wasn't sure if I should keep doing those. This community is a lifesaver! 🙏

OMG yes! I literally just figured this out yesterday after being stuck for over a week. The trick is to log into your NY.gov account, then go to "Unemployment Insurance Online" (NOT just "Unemployment Services" which doesn't work half the time). Once you're in there, click on "View and Maintain Account Information" and scroll down to find "Claim Status" or "Monetary Determination" - that's where your approval status actually shows up. It's so buried and confusing! Also heads up - mine took like 8 business days to appear there even after filing, so don't panic if it's not showing up right away. Make sure you keep doing your weekly certifications while waiting though! The whole website design is honestly trash but hang in there, you'll find it eventually 💪

•Thank you so much for this detailed walkthrough! I've been banging my head against the wall trying to find my status for days now. Just followed your steps and FINALLY found the "Monetary Determination" section - you're absolutely right about how buried it is! Still showing "pending" but at least now I know where to check. The 8 business day timeline is really reassuring too since I'm only on day 5. Really appreciate you sharing the exact navigation path, this should honestly be pinned at the top of the community! 🙌

I went through this exact same frustration a few months ago! The NY unemployment site is absolutely terrible to navigate. What finally worked for me was logging in and going to "My Online Services" → "Unemployment Insurance Online" → then looking under "Payment Information" AND "Claim Information" - sometimes your status shows up in one place but not the other for some reason. Also check if you have any pending "Required Actions" because sometimes they hide important status updates there too. If you've been waiting more than 2 weeks with no info showing up anywhere, definitely call them (I know it's painful) or try that claimyr service others mentioned. The whole system is broken but don't give up! And yeah definitely keep doing your weekly certs while you wait - that's super important even if your claim is still pending approval.

•This is such a comprehensive breakdown, thank you! I'm dealing with this same nightmare right now and your tip about checking both "Payment Information" AND "Claim Information" separately is genius - I was only looking in one place. Just checked and you're totally right, they show different info! Also didn't even know about the "Required Actions" section, going to check that next. Really appreciate you mentioning the 2 week timeline too, helps set expectations. This whole thread has been way more helpful than the actual NY unemployment website 😅

Just went through this exact same struggle a couple weeks ago! The NY unemployment website is honestly the worst designed site I've ever used. Here's what finally worked for me after trying everything: Log into your NY.gov account → click "My Online Services" → then "Unemployment Insurance Online" → look for "Claim Summary" or "View Account Information". Your claim status should be under "Monetary/Non-Monetary Determinations" but it can take 7-10 business days to show up there even after you file. Also make sure to check your "Correspondence" or "Messages" inbox because they sometimes put important updates there instead of the main dashboard (so dumb but that's how they do it). If you're still not seeing anything after 2 weeks, definitely call them or use one of those callback services. Keep doing your weekly certifications while you wait though - that part is crucial even if your claim is still pending! The whole system is a hot mess but hang in there, you'll eventually find your status buried somewhere in that maze of a website 🤞

•This is incredibly helpful, thank you so much! I've been struggling with this for over a week and your step-by-step breakdown is exactly what I needed. Just tried your path through "My Online Services" and found the "Monetary/Non-Monetary Determinations" section - never would have found that on my own! It's showing pending but at least now I know where to look. The tip about checking "Correspondence" is clutch too, I had no idea they put updates there. Really appreciate you mentioning the 7-10 business day timeline, I was starting to worry something was wrong since I'm only on day 6. This thread has been way more useful than any official help docs! 🙏

I just dealt with this same exact issue last month and it drove me absolutely crazy! The NY unemployment website is seriously the most confusing thing ever. What finally worked for me was logging in and going to "My Online Services" → "Unemployment Insurance Benefits" → then clicking on "View Benefit Payment History" - but here's the key part everyone misses: you have to scroll ALL the way down to the bottom of that page to find a section called "Claim Status Details" that actually shows if you're approved or not. It's literally hidden at the very bottom! Also pro tip - if you filed your claim recently, it can take anywhere from 5-12 business days for your status to actually appear anywhere on the site, which is ridiculous but that's just how slow their system is. Make sure you keep doing your weekly certifications even while waiting for approval - I almost stopped doing them thinking I should wait but that would have messed everything up. The whole website needs a complete redesign honestly but at least now you know where to look! 🤞

•OMG thank you for this! I've been pulling my hair out trying to find my claim status for days. Just followed your exact steps and found that "Claim Status Details" section at the very bottom - you're totally right, it's SO hidden! Mine's still showing as "under review" but at least now I know where to actually check. The 5-12 business day timeline is super helpful too since I'm only on day 4. Really appreciate you mentioning the weekly certifications - I was also wondering if I should keep doing those while waiting. This community is seriously saving my sanity right now! 🙌

I literally just went through this same nightmare two weeks ago! The NY unemployment site is honestly designed by people who hate users lol. After trying everything mentioned here, what FINALLY worked for me was logging in → "My Online Services" → "Unemployment Insurance Online" → then look for "Account Summary" (not just payment history). Your claim status is usually buried under a tab called "Claim Details" or sometimes "Benefit Year Information" depending on when you filed. The key thing everyone's missing is that you might need to click through like 3-4 different sub-menus to find it - it's never in the obvious place! Also heads up that if you filed within the last week, literally nothing will show up for 7-10 business days minimum, which is insane but that's their system. Keep screenshots of EVERYTHING and definitely keep doing those weekly certifications even if you're still pending - learned that the hard way! If you're still stuck after trying all these suggestions, honestly just bite the bullet and call them first thing Monday morning around 8am, that's when you have the best chance of getting through. Good luck, you got this! 💪

•This is exactly the kind of detailed breakdown I needed! I've been going in circles on that website for over a week now. Just tried your path through "Account Summary" and you're absolutely right about having to click through multiple sub-menus - found "Benefit Year Information" buried like 4 clicks deep! Still showing pending but at least I know I'm looking in the right place now. The 7-10 business day minimum is actually really reassuring since I'm only on day 5. Thanks for the tip about calling Monday at 8am too - if this doesn't update soon I'll definitely try that. This thread has been way more helpful than any official documentation! 🙏

Just went through this exact same frustration! After reading all these helpful responses, I wanted to share what combination finally worked for me. I had to try like 3 different paths people mentioned before I found my status. First I logged in and went to "My Online Services" → "Unemployment Insurance Online" → then I checked BOTH "View Payment History" AND "Account Summary" because apparently they show different info sometimes?? My actual claim status ended up being under "Account Summary" → "Claim Details" but it took 9 business days to show up there after filing (even though nowhere on the site tells you it takes that long!). Also definitely check your Messages/Correspondence inbox - I found an important determination letter there that I would have totally missed otherwise. Keep doing those weekly certs while you wait, that's super important! The website is absolutely terrible but hang in there, you'll find it eventually buried somewhere in that maze 🤞

•This is so helpful! I'm literally dealing with this right now and was getting so frustrated. Your tip about checking BOTH "View Payment History" AND "Account Summary" is clutch - I was only looking in one place. Just tried the path you described and found my info under "Claim Details" too! Still pending but at least now I know where to actually look. The 9 business day timeline gives me hope since I'm on day 6. Also checked my Messages inbox like you suggested and found some correspondence I totally missed. Thanks for taking the time to share the combo approach - this community is seriously amazing! 🙌

Just wanted to add my experience since I literally figured this out yesterday after being stuck for almost 2 weeks! What finally worked was going to "My Online Services" → "Unemployment Insurance Online" → then clicking "View and Maintain Account Information" → scroll down to "Monetary Determination Status". But here's the kicker - mine didn't show up there until day 11 even though I kept checking every single day! I was starting to panic thinking my claim got lost or something. Also make sure to check if you have any "Required Documents" or "Pending Issues" sections because sometimes they need additional info from you before they can approve anything. The weekly certifications are definitely important to keep doing while you wait - I almost stopped but glad I didn't! The whole system is honestly broken but don't give up, it'll eventually show up somewhere in that confusing mess of a website 🤞

•Thank you for sharing this! Day 11 is actually really reassuring to hear - I'm on day 8 and was starting to worry something was wrong since everyone else seemed to find theirs faster. Just checked the "Monetary Determination Status" section you mentioned and it's still not there yet, but now I know to keep waiting a bit longer. Also didn't even think to look for "Required Documents" or "Pending Issues" sections - going to check those right now! This whole thread has been such a lifesaver, the NY unemployment site gives you literally zero guidance about timelines or where to actually look for anything 😤

Oh wow, reading through all these responses is both helpful and frustrating at the same time! I'm currently on day 3 of trying to find my claim status and honestly feeling overwhelmed by how many different places people are saying to look. It sounds like the NY unemployment website is just genuinely terrible at organizing information. I'm going to try the "My Online Services" → "Unemployment Insurance Online" → "Account Summary" path that a few people mentioned, and also check those Messages/Correspondence sections since apparently they hide important stuff there too. Really appreciate everyone sharing their exact step-by-step experiences - this is way more useful than anything on the actual website! Going to keep doing my weekly certs while I wait and try to be patient with the 7-10+ business day timeline everyone's mentioned. Fingers crossed I can find it soon! 🤞

•Hey Zoe! I totally feel your frustration - I just went through this exact same thing a few weeks ago and it's honestly maddening how confusing their website is. Since you're only on day 3, try not to stress too much yet because based on everyone's experiences here, it really does take 7-10+ business days for anything to show up. I'd definitely recommend trying that "My Online Services" → "Unemployment Insurance Online" → "Account Summary" path that worked for several people, and also check multiple sections like "Claim Details," "Monetary Determination," and "Payment History" because apparently the info can show up in different places for different people (which makes zero sense but that's NY for you 🙄). The Messages/Correspondence tip is super important too - I almost missed a key update there! Keep doing those weekly certs for sure and maybe bookmark this thread because everyone's shared such helpful navigation tips. You got this! 💪
