Confused about NY unemployment verification - is ID.me complete after 14 days?
So I had to do this ID.me verification for my NY unemployment claim about 2 weeks ago. They said something about a 14-day waiting period after verification. Today is day 14 and I'm wondering if I'm good to go now or if there's something else I need to do? My payment status still shows pending. Do I need to call someone or just wait longer? This whole process is so confusing!!

i went thru the same thing!! the system is SO DUMB. after my id.me was done it took like 3 more days before my payment actually changed from pending to paid. just keep checking your portal daily

Thanks for the info! Did you have to call them or did it just update automatically after the 3 days?

The ID.me verification is just one part of the process. Once the 14-day period is complete, NYSDOL still needs to review your verification before releasing payments. This typically takes 3-7 additional business days after the verification period ends. If you don't see any update by day 21, then you should consider reaching out to a representative.

Oh man, another week potentially?? I'm already behind on bills. Thanks for explaining though - at least now I know what to expect.

DONT JUST WAIT!!! the system will keep you waiting FOREVER if you let it!!! I waited 5 weeks after id.me and nothing happened until I finally got through to someone. They told me my account was just sitting there and needed to be manually reviewed!!! They fixed it in 5 minutes once I actually talked to someone.

Wow that's terrible! How did you manage to get through to an actual person? Every time I call I just get the automated system.

I was in your exact situation last month. After completing ID.me verification, NYSDOL still has to process it on their end. Try logging into your NY.gov account and check your message inbox - sometimes they'll send you notifications if they need additional information. In my case, my payments were released exactly 17 days after completing ID.me verification (so 3 days after the 14-day period ended).\n\nIf nothing happens by day 20, definitely call them. I recommend using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to an agent faster. I was on hold for hours before I found their service - they got me a callback within 30 minutes. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

id.me is the WORST. took me 3 tries to verify my identity cuz my drivers license is a little damaged. ny unemployment system needs to be completely rebuilt from scratch

Just checked my inbox and there's nothing new there. I'm on day 14 exactly so maybe I'll give it another few days before trying to call. That Claimyr thing looks interesting - was it easy to use?

Yeah, it was pretty straightforward. Just enter your phone number and they call you when they've secured a spot in the NYSDOL phone queue. Saved me hours of frustration trying to get through the busy signals. Definitely worth it if you're in a hurry to get your payments moving.

Be careful with 3rd party services when dealing with unemployment! You don't want to give out personal info to scammers!

It's not a scam - they don't ask for any of your unemployment account details. They just connect you with NYSDOL's phone system. You still talk directly to the unemployment office, they just help you bypass the busy signals.

OK sorry! Just wanted to make sure OP is careful. There's so many unemployment scams these days.

UPDATE: Just wanted to let everyone know that I followed the advice here and waited 3 more days (so 17 total days after ID.me). My claim is now showing as
