Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Been dealing w/ NY unemployment for way too long. Here's what works: 1) You CAN backdate missed certifications within 30 days 2) You CANNOT do this online - must be done by phone 3) Visiting sick family absolutely counts as good cause 4) Document everything - when he called, who he spoke to 5) Be nice to the reps! They deal with angry people all day If your son can't get through on the phone (which is likely), I recommend using claimyr.com - it's the only thing that worked for me after days of trying. They wait on hold and then connect you when a real person answers.

Pro tip: call right when they open at 8am. I got through after only 20 minutes on hold that way. They told me my refund was scheduled for next week. Worth trying if you're desperate!

Make sure you didnt get an email saying you need to recertify or submit additional documentation. They love to randomly require that stuff and not tell you until your payment is late.
Anybody else notice that everytime there's a holiday weekend the payments get all messed up the following week? Happens every single time I swear.

Fun fact: I worked in a call center before and I can tell you the WORST times to call are mid-morning and lunch time. Try calling at 8:01am exactly when they open or 30 min before closing. Those are your best shots.
