If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

One thing nobody tells you is how long everything takes with the NYS Department of Labor. Don't expect to get money right away. There's usually a waiting period, and if there are any issues with your claim it can go into something called adjudication which can take weeks to resolve. I'd recommend trying to contact them directly if you have questions, but good luck getting through on the phone - the lines are always busy. I actually found this service called Claimyr at claimyr.com that helps you get through to NYS Department of Labor agents. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI showing how it works. Saved me hours of trying to call myself.

Never heard of that service before but honestly anything is better than sitting on hold for hours just to get disconnected.

Just file as soon as possible! Even if you're not sure about all the details, it's better to get the process started. You can always call them later to clarify things. The most important thing is not to wait because there might be a delay in when your benefits start.

Harold Oh

been through this process twice now and honestly it's different every time depending on your situation... first time was smooth sailing, second time got stuck in adjudication hell for 6 weeks because my employer made some bogus claim about my termination

0 coins

That's scary - what kind of bogus claim? I'm worried my employer might try to fight it even though I was laid off.

thanks for posting this question, I'm in the same boat and was wondering the exact same thing!

If you're having trouble getting through to NYS Department of Labor to file your claim, I had success using a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that helped me reach an actual agent. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI showing how it works. Really saved me time instead of calling over and over trying to get through the busy phone lines.

Is that like a paid service? I'm trying to save money right now obviously.

Yeah it costs something but honestly saved me hours of frustration. Just depends if your time is worth it to you.

The only thing that's 'bad' about collecting unemployment is how hard they make it sometimes! The NYS Department of Labor system can be confusing and the phone lines are always busy. But morally? Ethically? You're using a program you paid into. That's like feeling bad about using your car insurance after an accident. Don't let anyone make you feel guilty for using benefits you're entitled to.

The whole NYS Department of Labor system is overwhelmed right now! I've been waiting 4 weeks myself and every time I call I get that stupid automated message about high call volume. How are we supposed to pay rent when they can't even process claims properly?? This is exactly why people lose faith in government services.

I feel you on the frustration but hang in there

Wait are you sure about that economic thing? I thought when unemployment goes up prices usually go down because people spend less money. This doesn't make sense to me at all.

0 coins

That's the normal relationship, but stagflation occurs when supply-side factors drive inflation while demand-side factors increase unemployment. It's counterintuitive but does happen during certain economic disruptions.

0 coins

Oh okay that makes more sense now, thanks for explaining it better

The whole system is designed to make you lose benefits! They don't clearly explain when to file and then penalize you for not knowing their arbitrary rules. Classic NYS Department of Labor bureaucracy.

While the system can be frustrating, the rules are actually posted on their website. The key is filing as soon as you become unemployed through no fault of your own.

same boat here, got laid off right before christmas and didn't file until after new years thinking it would be weird to file during holidays
