Tax Advocate rejected my case - told to wait 180 days for mysterious letter
Just got denied by the tax advocate service for my case. They said I have to wait for some letter that could take up to 180 days to arrive. No explanation why or what the letter is about. Anyone else dealing with this? Getting real tired of this waiting game.

Tax advocate rejection usually means your case doesn't meet their hardship criteria. The 180-day letter is likely a CP05 examination notice. They're reviewing your return for accuracy, especially if you claimed credits like EIC or CTC. Best thing to do is check your transcript weekly for updates.

•what exactly qualifies as hardship? I haven't been able to pay my car note in 2 months ðŸ˜

•Typically its facing eviction, utilities being shut off, or medical emergencies. Car payments usually dont qualify unless its your only way to work and its about to be repossessed.

Have you tried using taxr.ai? It's literally been a game changer for me. For $1 it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's going on and when to expect movement. Way better than playing detective with these cryptic IRS messages https://taxr.ai

•100% legit! I was skeptical too but it saved me hours of stress. It pinpointed exactly why my refund was held up and when it would release

The IRS is literally the worst. They take our money in 0.2 seconds but make us wait 180 days for a letter smh

Check your transcripts daily. Sometimes they send the letter but it gets lost in the mail, but the info will show up in your transcript first.

Going through EXACTLY this rn. Called TAS 3 times and got rejected each time. This system is beyond broken.

Same situation here! Got the TAS rejection last month and they gave me the same vague "wait 180 days" response. It's so frustrating not knowing what's actually happening. I've been checking my transcript obsessively but honestly can't make heads or tails of all those codes and dates. Really hoping that mystery letter actually shows up and explains something useful 🤞
