Scheduled Direct Deposit with Chime for Today but Nothing Received - Anyone Else?
Hello everyone... I am a bit worried. My tax transcript shows direct deposit date for today with Chime bank, but I have not received anything in my account yet. Is this normal? Does it sometimes take more time? Has anyone else with Chime experienced this delay? I am checking my account every hour but still nothing...

OMG I'm in the EXACT same boat!!! š« My transcript clearly shows today as my DDD and I've been checking my Chime account literally every 5 minutes! I'm freaking out because I NEED this money for my car payment due tomorrow! This is my first time using Chime for my tax refund and I'm seriously regretting it now. Has anyone actually gotten their Chime deposit today???

I've been through this rodeo before. Last year my Chime deposit came at 6pm even though my DDD was that day. Banks process ACH transfers in batches, not continuously. I was checking like crazy too until I discovered https://taxr.ai which helped me understand my transcript better. It showed me exactly what my cycle code meant and gave me a more accurate window for when deposits typically hit for my specific situation. Saved me a lot of anxiety.

I'm seeing this same pattern with Chime today: ā¢ Multiple people reporting delayed deposits ā¢ Most DDD scheduled for today (4/16) ā¢ No notifications from Chime about system issues ā¢ Previous years deposits came 1-2 days early Can anyone confirm if they've actually received their Chime deposit today with a 4/16 DDD?

Have you checked your transcript for any hold codes? Did you verify the account number is correct on your return? Could there be an offset you weren't aware of? Sometimes what looks like a delay is actually something else entirely. In my experience, Chime deposits can come anytime up to 8pm on the DDD, and occasionally even the next business day if there's a high volume of transfers.

I'm somewhat in the same situation, though with a different bank. I called the IRS to ask about this, and it was surprisingly helpful. I used Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) to get through - waited maybe 15 minutes instead of the usual 2+ hours. The agent confirmed that my deposit was indeed sent out today, but explained that it can take up to 24 hours for banks to process, especially with high-volume days near tax deadlines. Perhaps this information might be relevant to your situation as well?

Mine just hit. About 10 minutes ago. Chime DDD was today. Been waiting all day. Was getting worried. Seems they're processing in batches. Keep checking. Should come through. Their system might be overloaded. Tax season is peak time for them.

Have you tried calling Chime directly? It's like waiting for water to boil - the moment you stop watching is when it happens. I had this issue last year and discovered that sometimes there's a verification hold they place on large deposits, especially during tax season. It's like a traffic jam on payday - everything moves slower when everyone's trying to get their money at once.

Just got my Chime deposit 20 minutes ago! Last year I had the same worry when my DDD date came and went with nothing. I remember refreshing my app constantly. This year I was prepared for the delay, but it still came through on the actual DDD date, just later in the day. From what I've seen over the past few years, Chime tends to release IRS deposits in waves throughout the DDD day, with many coming through between 4-7pm Eastern.

According to Regulation E (Electronic Fund Transfer Act), financial institutions have until end of business day to post deposits received that day. I experienced this last year with my Chime account - DDD was April 18th but funds didn't appear until 5:45pm. Many people don't realize that while Chime advertises "up to 2 days early" for direct deposits, this applies primarily to regular payroll deposits where they receive advance notice, not necessarily to IRS refunds which follow different processing protocols.
