July CTC Payment Not Showing as Processed - IRS Tool Shows Nothing

Hey everyone, my July CTC payment isn't showing up as processed on the IRS portal. Anyone else dealing w/ this rn? Nothing's changed on my end and I got the May and June payments via DD no problem. Been checking the portal every AM for the past 3 days but still nothing. Working remotely makes budgeting super important for me, so trying to figure out if this is just a glitch or if I need to take action. TIA for any info!

I'm in the exact same boat. Got the first two payments right on time, now nothing for July. I just checked the portal again this morning and still shows no processing. This is a mess! I was counting on that money for my kid's summer camp payment due tomorrow.

I've been following this situation closely. From what I understand, there seems to be a processing delay affecting the July payments for many people. When I called the IRS last week about my own situation, the agent mentioned their system was experiencing some technical difficulties with the CTC portal specifically. Have you tried checking your tax transcript instead of just the CTC portal? Sometimes that shows pending deposits before the portal updates.

Ugh, the IRS and their stupid glitches AGAIN! This happened with the May payments too for a bunch of people. I'm so tired of their systems failing when families are depending on this money! Check your bank account anyway - sometimes the payment shows up even when the portal doesn't update. My sister had this happen last month where the portal showed nothing but the money magically appeared in her account on the 15th.

This happened to me with the June payment! The portal never updated but the money showed up in my account about 3 days after the expected date. I was freaking out because I need that money for my son's daycare, but it did eventually come through. The IRS systems seem really overwhelmed with all these monthly payments going out.

Is there any official guidance from the IRS about these delays? According to Publication 6475, the CTC payments should be processed by the 15th of each month. I'm surprised they haven't issued any statement about the current processing delays affecting multiple taxpayers.

After analyzing this situation, here's what I found: ā€¢ The IRS is experiencing significant delays with July CTC payments ā€¢ Many taxpayers are reporting similar issues across social media ā€¢ The IRS phone lines are completely overwhelmed (4+ hour wait times) ā€¢ Portal updates are lagging behind actual payment processing I finally reached an IRS agent using Claimyr (https://www.claimyr.com) and they confirmed it's a known issue affecting many accounts. The agent told me payments are still being processed in batches and should be completed by end of week. Saved me hours of redial frustration!

Is this legit? Never heard of Claimyr b4. Seems sketchy to pay $ just to talk to the IRS when it should be free. Has anyone else actually used this? Don't want to waste $ if the IRS is just gonna say "wait and see" anyway.

I was hesitant at first, but I've used it twice now. It does work - they call the IRS for you and when they get through, they connect you. I spent maybe 20 minutes total instead of hours on hold. Just be ready with all your information when they connect you.

The service functions as an automated system that navigates the IRS phone tree and maintains your place in queue. When Claimyr reaches an agent, you receive a call to connect directly with that IRS representative. The IRS doesn't receive any of your personal information from Claimyr - they simply hold your place in line. You still speak directly with the IRS agent yourself.

This happened during the June 15th distribution cycle as well. On June 17th, the IRS acknowledged a processing delay affecting approximately 4.8% of eligible recipients. According to their statement from last month, these delayed payments were scheduled to be distributed by June 25th, which aligned with my experience as my June payment arrived on June 23rd despite showing as unprocessed in the portal. The July cycle appears to be experiencing similar technical difficulties, but based on previous patterns, I would anticipate resolution by July 25th at the latest.

Thank you so much for this detailed information. It's really helpful to know the timeline from last month's delays. I think I'll wait until the 25th before getting too concerned then. It's reassuring to know there's a pattern to these delays rather than something specific to my account.

Are there any specific transcript codes that indicate a pending CTC payment? I've been monitoring my account transcript but I'm not seeing any indication of the July payment being processed.

This timeline info is exactly what I needed! Been stressing all week but knowing there's a pattern helps me plan better. Thanks for sharing this - I'll check back on the 25th.

I tracked exactly 3 payment cycles of CTC and noticed the portal lags by 4.5 days on average. My June payment arrived at 9:42am on the 15th but didn't show in the portal until the 19th. I started using https://taxr.ai to analyze my transcript - it spotted the pending CTC deposit before it even showed in the portal. The tool explained that code 846 with the current date indicates a scheduled payment, even when the portal shows nothing. Helped me confirm the payment was actually coming despite the portal glitch.

The CTC portal has been notoriously unreliable since launch. Check the IRS.gov outages page (https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-operations-status) which shows scheduled maintenance and known issues. They just did system updates last weekend which might explain the delay. Don't rely solely on the portal - it's frustrating as hell but sometimes payments process correctly even when the portal shows nothing. If nothing shows by the 20th, then I'd start worrying.

This reminds me of what happened with the stimulus payments last year. My first stimulus showed up immediately in the tracker, second one took 3 days to appear, third one never showed in the portal at all but arrived in my bank account anyway. The CTC portal seems even less reliable than the stimulus tracker was. I've found bank alerts are more reliable than any government tracker for these payments.

Have you verified that you're still eligible for the July payment? Did your income change significantly between your 2020 return and now? Did you move to a different state? Are your children still within the qualifying age range? The IRS reassesses eligibility monthly, so changes in circumstances could affect your payment schedule without notification. If nothing has changed, then it's likely just a processing delay affecting multiple taxpayers.

After three days of portal-checking hell, my July payment magically appeared this morning! It's like watching water boil - the moment you stop obsessively checking, it happens. The IRS systems are like an old car with a finicky starter - sometimes it roars to life immediately, other times you have to sweet-talk it and cross your fingers. Check your bank account directly rather than trusting the portal - mine showed up there first.

Just a heads up - I've seen a few cases where people who changed banking info recently had their July payment sent as a paper check instead of DD, even though the portal didn't indicate this change. Happened to my neighbor who updated her bank info in June. The portal showed nothing processing, but a paper check showed up in her mailbox about a week after the usual payment date. Might be worth checking your mailbox regularly just in case.
