Anyone with DDD of 3/27 received their deposit yet?

Just checking in with the community to see how everyone's doing with the March 27 direct deposit date. My transcript updated last week with this DDD, but nothing in my account yet. Similar to last year when I had a February DDD and it showed up 2 days early with my credit union. Anyone else in the same boat? Trying to gauge if this is normal or if I should start making phone calls. Compared to my investment accounts where transfers are practically instant, the IRS refund system feels like dial-up internet in a 5G world.

Not yet. Mine shows the same date but nothing in my account. My bank usually posts around 3am so I'm checking again tomorrow. Have you checked your transcript to see if there are any other codes besides the 846?

Did you file with any special credits like the Child Tax Credit or Earned Income Credit? I had a DDD of March 20th and it posted exactly on March 20th at 3:14am. The bank matters a lot - some release funds early, others wait until the exact date. What bank do you use?

I've seen this pattern for years now. In my experience, credit unions tend to release 1-2 days early, major banks like Chase and BoA stick exactly to the DDD, and online banks are all over the map. Last year my Chime account got the deposit 5 days before the DDD, but this year only 2 days early. The IRS actually releases the funds in batches before the DDD, but it's up to your financial institution when they make it available.

Ugh same boat here. DDD of 3/27 but nada in my acct. So frustrating bc I need that $ for rent! Last yr I had to call IRS like 50x before getting thru. This yr I used Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) when I needed to verify some info and got thru in like 20 mins. Might try again tmrw if nothing shows up. Their system connects u to an actual agent without the endless redial nightmare.

Is that service really worth it though? It's like paying a toll to use a highway that should be free. The IRS phone system is like a maze designed to keep us out, but I'm not sure about paying just to talk to someone who might not even help.

According to the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service reports, only about 1 in 10 calls were getting through during peak season last year. Claimyr doesn't guarantee they'll solve your issue, but they do guarantee you'll reach a human. Based on the National Taxpayer Advocate statistics, the average taxpayer spends 4-6 hours on hold or redialing before connecting. So it's really about how you value your time.

Has anyone checked if there might be an offset involved? According to IRS Publication 1779, certain federal debts can cause partial or full offsets of refunds. If you received a CP504 notice within the past year, this could potentially explain the delay. Did you receive any notices prior to filing?

Have you checked the exact tax code on your transcript? There's a difference between code 846 (refund issued) and code 570 (additional account action pending). Also, exactly how many days has it been since your DDD was posted? In 87% of cases I've tracked, deposits arrive within 3 business days of the DDD, but about 9% take 5-7 business days due to bank processing times. What payment method did you select - direct deposit or debit card?

I appreciate the detailed breakdown. I probably should look at my transcript more carefully. I definitely have the 846 code with the 3/27 date, and I did select direct deposit to the same account I've used for years. It's been exactly 2 business days since my DDD posted, so maybe I'm just being impatient.

I remember going through this exact situation last tax season. My transcript showed a DDD but nothing appeared in my account for almost a week. What I learned is that the banking system has these ACH transfer windows that don't always align with what we expect. For example, my credit union processes incoming federal payments in batches at 2am and 2pm. If the IRS sends it after the morning batch, I don't see it until the next day. I'd suggest checking with your bank about their specific federal payment processing schedule.

Wow, I had no idea banks had specific processing times for federal payments. That explains so much about why some people get their refunds at weird times. Thanks for sharing this knowledge - definitely going to ask my bank about their schedule!

Have you tried checking your refund status through the IRS2Go app instead of the website? Sometimes they show different information. Also, ever notice how the WMR tool and your transcript can show completely different statuses? I've had situations where WMR showed nothing but my transcript had the DDD. Might be worth checking both places if you haven't already.
