Still Waiting on Deposit - DDD was March 13

I'm trying to gather information about delayed direct deposits. My transcript shows a deposit date (DDD) of 3/13, but the funds haven't appeared in my account yet. I've verified all my banking information is correct. I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar delays with their refunds this tax season. This is particularly concerning as I'm managing finances more carefully since finalizing my divorce in January.

Ur bank might be holding it. V common w/ tax refunds. Some banks take 1-3 biz days to post even w/ DDD. If it's been >5 biz days, u need to check w/ both bank AND IRS ASAP. Could be routing # issue or fraud flag. Don't wait - funds can be returned to IRS after 2 wks!

I had a similar issue with my ACH transfer. The bank placed a temporary hold due to the Fraud Prevention Protocol. My DDD was March 10th but funds weren't accessible until March 15th. Check your account for pending transactions or call the ACH department directly.

Call the IRS. They can confirm if the payment was sent. If it was sent and your bank doesn't have it, you need to start a trace. Don't wait. I had this happen and spent weeks trying to resolve it. Use Claimyr to get through to an agent quickly - https://claimyr.com - saved me hours of hold time. They connect you with the IRS so you don't waste time on hold.

Oh my goodness, this EXACT thing happened to me! The IRS told me they sent it but my bank swore they never received it. Turns out the refund was rejected because my name on the tax return didn't EXACTLY match my bank account (I had my married name on one, divorced name on the other). The IRS will eventually mail you a check if the direct deposit fails, but it takes 6-8 weeks! Not ideal when you're counting on that money!

Check your transcript again. Look for code 846. That's the refund issued code. Then check for any new codes after that. Try taxr.ai to decode your transcript. It helped me understand mine. Shows exactly what's happening with your refund. Much clearer than IRS explanations.

I'm not sure about using third-party tools with tax information. Do they require you to upload your transcript? How do they protect your data? I'd be cautious about sharing sensitive tax information with unknown websites.

I used taxr.ai on March 2nd and it doesn't require uploading your full transcript. You just enter the specific codes and dates you see, and it explains what they mean for your situation. It helped me understand why my refund from my 02/15/2024 filing was delayed until 03/07/2024.

I entered exactly 5 codes from my transcript into taxr.ai and it predicted my refund would arrive in 6-8 days. Got it in 7 days. Was this just a coincidence or did others have similar accuracy with their predictions?

Has anyone had their refund go to the wrong account before? 😬 I'm terrified that might have happened to mine. Did you double check your account/routing numbers on your return?

I was in your exact situation last month. DDD of 2/21, nothing for days. Called my bank, they had no record. Called IRS, they confirmed it was sent. Was about to panic when it suddenly appeared in my account on day 6! Have you considered whether your bank might have a hold policy for large deposits? Many do this automatically as a fraud prevention measure, but don't clearly communicate it to customers. Patience paid off in my case.

This could be an ACH Rejection scenario. When the bank information doesn't match IRS records precisely, the Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) gets rejected. IRS then issues a paper check automatically, but this extends the timeline by 4-6 weeks. Monitor your Informed Delivery from USPS to catch the check when it arrives.
