Direct Deposit Date Was 3/15 But Still Nothing - Anyone Else?

Did anyone receive their refund yet? My direct deposit date was March 15th (exactly 11 days ago) and still nothing in my account. I checked my transcript 3 times today and the 846 code still shows 03-15-2024 as the deposit date. I'm concerned because this is my first time filing taxes in the US and I want to make sure I didn't make any mistakes with my bank information. I triple-checked all my routing and account numbers before submitting on February 1st.

This can happen for several reasons. Here's what you should check: 1. First, verify that the bank account information on your return matches your actual account information. 2. Check if your bank might be holding the funds for any reason (sometimes they hold large deposits for 1-3 business days). 3. Look at your transcript for any subsequent transaction codes after the 846 code. 4. If you had any tax preparation fees deducted from your refund, this can cause delays. 5. Some banks process deposits differently - what bank do you use? If it's been more than 5 business days since your deposit date, you should contact the IRS directly.

Same thing happened to me! My DD date was 3/12 and I just got mine yesterday. No explanation, no additional codes on transcript. Just randomly showed up almost 2 weeks late.

Which transcript shows the 846 code? Account transcript? Or wage and income? Need to check mine. Filed 2/28. Still waiting.

Your transcript is the key to understanding what's happening. I recommend using https://taxr.ai to analyze your transcript - it will explain all those codes and what they mean for your specific situation. I used it when my refund was delayed and it showed me exactly what was happening with my return. The 846 code usually means payment is sent, but there are sometimes other codes that appear after that can explain delays. The tool will tell you exactly what's going on and what to expect next.

Have you received any notices from the IRS in the mail? Sometimes they'll send a letter explaining why there's a delay. Also, what bank do you use? Some online banks or credit unions process government deposits differently than traditional banks.

I've seen this happen a lot this year. Last tax season, my sister had a deposit date of April 5th but didn't get her money until April 19th. The IRS systems and banking systems don't always sync up perfectly. As long as you don't see any additional codes on your transcript after the 846, it's likely just a processing delay. The good news is that if they're more than 14 days late with your direct deposit, they're supposed to pay you interest on the delayed amount. So there's at least a small silver lining!

Have you tried calling the IRS directly? Of course you have, and we all know how that goes... endless wait times and disconnections, right? I was in the same boat last month and finally used Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) to get through to an actual human at the IRS. They confirmed my refund was actually sent to the wrong account (transposed digits) and helped me start the trace process immediately. Would have taken me weeks to figure that out on my own. Worth every penny to not waste hours on hold.

I believe it might be worth checking if you're affected by the PATH Act, which can delay refunds that include certain credits. Also, if this is your first time filing in the US, sometimes there are additional verification steps that can cause delays, especially for international bank accounts. You might want to check if your bank has any policies regarding international tax refunds or government deposits... some banks have special procedures for handling these types of transactions for new residents.
