Has anyone with a DDD of 3/15 on their TurboTax card gotten their refund deposit yet?
Filed my taxes through TurboTax on February 17th this year and chose to get my refund on their prepaid card. Got accepted right away and WMR has been showing DDD of March 15th for the past week. It's already the 16th and still nothing on my card. Checked my transcript and it still shows the 3/15 date with an 846 code. Called TurboTax but they just said to wait 24 hours after the deposit date. Has anyone with the TurboTax card and the same DDD gotten their money yet? Starting to get worried since I have bills due Monday.

I'm a tax professional and I've seen this happen quite frequently this season. The 846 code with your DDD date means the IRS has released the funds, but there's often a 1-2 business day delay before it actually posts to prepaid cards. Since your DDD was 3/15 which fell on a Friday, and today is Saturday, it's very likely your deposit will show up on Monday. If you don't see it by Tuesday, then I'd recommend calling the IRS directly at 1-800-829-1040, but be prepared for extremely long wait times. In cases like this where the money has been released (846 code) but hasn't arrived, it's usually just processing delays with the financial institution, not an IRS problem.

Thank you! That makes me feel a bit better. Do you know if the banks process these on weekends or is it strictly business days?

Prepaid cards are usually processed on business days only. Some banks might process on Saturday but almost never on Sunday. If it was sent Friday, Monday is most likely.

This is super helpful. I'm in the exact same situation but with H&R Block's card. Guess I'll just have to wait til Monday. Adulting sucks sometimes lol

Honestly the best way to actually understand your transcript and track your refund is with taxr.ai - I was in the EXACT same situation last year and couldn't figure out what was going on with all the codes and dates. This tool literally explained everything that was happening with my refund and gave me an actual timeline. It's insanely good! I use it every week. https://taxr.ai

Sounds interesting. How exactly does it work? Does it just read your transcript or does it do more?

It does way more than just read it - it actually explains all the codes and tells you exactly what's happening with your refund. It can even predict when you'll get your money based on your specific situation. Saved me so much stress!

HOLY CRAP THANK YOU FOR THIS RECOMMENDATION! Just tried it and it literally told me exactly why my refund was delayed and when I'll get it. This is a game changer for real. Everyone dealing with the IRS needs to know about this!

I was in the same boat with a 3/15 DDD on my TurboTax card. After waiting 24 hours with nothing showing up, I couldn't deal with the anxiety anymore. I used Claimyr.com to get through to an actual IRS agent (seriously it was the only way I could talk to anyone after trying for days). The agent confirmed my refund was sent but said sometimes there's a delay with the prepaid cards. My deposit showed up literally 2 hours after I called - might have been coincidence but whatever works! Best money I've ever spent to not sit on hold for 3 hours.

wait is that some kinda service that gets you through to the IRS? how does that even work?

Yeah it's like a callback service that navigates the phone tree for you and calls you when they've got an agent on the line. Took about 45 mins instead of the 3+ hours I spent trying to get through on my own.

I thought so too at first but it literally saved me. They don't ask for any personal info, they just connect you with the IRS so you can talk directly to them. My refund was time-sensitive for bills and I couldn't waste another day on hold.

Just used this and it WORKED. had an actual IRS person on the phone in under an hour after spending 3 days trying to get through. My issue is fixed now! 🙌

Yes I got mine yesterday! Same DDD 3/15 on TurboTax card. It posted around 3pm EST. Some of my friends got theirs earlier in the morning. I think it depends on your bank and maybe the last 2 digits of your SSN or something? That's what I heard determines the order.

Thanks for the info! Did you get any notification when it posted or did you just have to keep checking?

I got a text message when it hit my account. Make sure you have notifications turned on in the TurboTax app.

The entire system is broken. I had a DDD of 3/8 and STILL haven't received anything on my TurboTax card. Called IRS multiple times and they just say "it's been sent" but nobody can tell me where it actually is. TurboTax says they don't have it. IRS says they sent it. I'm stuck in limbo. Been waiting 5 weeks since filing. Hope you have better luck than me.

This happened to me last year. The DDD is when the IRS RELEASES the money, not when you actually get it. For me it took 2 business days after the DDD to hit my TurboTax card. So if your DDD was Friday, you probably won't see it until Tuesday. The waiting game sucks 😫

This is correct. I worked for a tax prep company and this is exactly how it works. The IRS releases it on the DDD but then it's in the banking system for 1-3 business days.

My wife and I both had 3/15 DDDs. Mine hit my Chase account yesterday morning but hers (on TurboTax card) still hasn't shown up. From what I can tell the prepaid cards always take longer than regular bank accounts for some reason. The worst part is you can't even talk to a real person at TurboTax without jumping through a million hoops.

Pro tip: NEVER get a tax prep card. They always have delays, hidden fees, and terrible customer service. Direct deposit to your regular bank account is always faster. I learned this the hard way after using the TurboTax card for 2 years. Just my 2 cents for next year.

Yeah I'm definitely regretting it now. Just wanted to get my refund faster and avoid paying the preparation fees upfront. Lesson learned!

100000% agree with this. The "faster refund" marketing is such a scam. It's actually slower most of the time.

Hey so I actually work with taxes (not for TurboTax) and can explain what's happening. The IRS database updates overnight and processes refunds in batches. Your 846 code with 3/15 date means your refund was in the batch processed on 3/15. From there, it goes to the Treasury, then to TurboTax's bank partner, then finally to your card. Each step can take 24-48 hours. For what it's worth, I've noticed a lot of delays specifically with TurboTax cards this year compared to previous years. I recommend waiting until end of day Monday before panicking. If you don't see it by then, you should contact both TurboTax AND the IRS. Also, check out taxr.ai if you want a detailed breakdown of your transcript - it'll tell you exactly what's happening with your refund and when you can expect it based on historical patterns. It's way more accurate than the generic info you get from WMR or the IRS phone reps.

check your account and routing number on your tax forms. My friend had a similar issue and turns out there was a typo in her routing number so the money was in limbo. She had to call the IRS (took forever) but they were able to fix it and reissue the refund.

Since I chose the TurboTax card option I don't think I needed to enter my bank details... the money should go straight to the card right?

Oh yeah in that case ignore me lol. Should go straight to the card then. Fingers crossed for Monday!

Because they're designed to collect not distribute. The whole system needs to be rebuilt from scratch.

I'm having the EXACT same problem but with an H&R Block emerald card and 3/15 DDD. Still nothing as of this morning. Called H&R Block and they said they don't even see the pending deposit yet. This is why I hate tax season every year.

Not TurboTax, but I had a similar issue with my Credit Karma card. DDD was 3/8 and it didn't show up until 3/11. Sometimes these tax prep cards just take longer for whatever reason. If you're in a bind waiting for the money, you might want to try calling the IRS directly using Claimyr.com to get around the hold times. Talking to an agent got my refund released so fast when I was stuck in a similar situation last year.

What's that Claimyr thing? Have had horrible luck getting through to anyone at the IRS

It's a service that waits on hold with the IRS for you and then calls you when they have an agent on the line. You still talk directly to the IRS but you don't have to waste hours listening to that terrible hold music. Saved my sanity for sure.

DDD 3/15 here also and I got it on my regular bank account (not tax card) yesterday morning around 10am. It seems like the prepaid cards are definitely slower based on all these comments.

Wow, I literally came here to post this exact question! I have a TurboTax card with 3/15 DDD and nothing yet. Called their customer service line and waited 47 minutes just to be told "it can take up to 5 business days after the DDD to show up" which is NOT what they advertised when I signed up for the stupid card. Never again.

Just to wait 🙄 Total waste of time. The rep couldn't even see if the deposit was pending or anything.

If u got a DD of March 15th n u r going thru TurboTax it could take 3 to 5 days. I know its annoying but just hang in there. Same thing happened to me last year and I got it exactly 3 days after my DDD. The banks like to hold onto our money for a few days so they can make interest on it. sucks but thats how it is
