Filed on 2/15/24 with TurboTax - Anyone have a DDD yet?

Hey everyone! I filed my taxes through TurboTax on February 15th and it was accepted the same day. We're now over a month in and I still don't have a deposit date. The WMR tool just shows the first bar with "Return Received" message. Anyone else file around the same time and already get their refund date? Starting to get a bit anxious since I was counting on this money for some car repairs. 🙃

I filed on Feb 12th with TurboTax and just got my deposit date yesterday! It's showing March 27th for direct deposit. Took exactly 38 days from acceptance to getting the DDD. Did you claim any credits like EIC or CTC? Those typically take longer to process.

Have you checked your transcript? The WMR tool can be days or even weeks behind what's actually happening with your return. I was in the same boat last month - WMR showing nothing but my transcript had all the processing codes and even my DDD before WMR updated.

I tried checking my transcript but the IRS website keeps giving me an error when I try to create an account. Something about not being able to verify my phone number. 😩

I was in the exact same situation. Filed 2/17 with TurboTax and WMR was stuck on the first bar for weeks. I finally used https://taxr.ai to analyze my transcript once I could access it. The tool explained every code and gave me a predicted deposit date that ended up being spot on. Saved me so much stress trying to decipher all those cryptic codes and cycle dates myself!

Is that site legit? Never heard of it before and I'm always cautious about tax-related services.

Totally get the caution! I was skeptical too, but it doesn't ask for any sensitive info - you just upload your transcript PDF that you download from the IRS site. It just reads all those codes and explains what they mean for your specific situation. Way more helpful than googling random codes and getting conflicting info from 5 different reddit threads lol

Filed 2/18 with TurboTax, got my DDD yesterday for 3/26. The processing times seem all over the place this year. Some people who filed after me already got their refunds weeks ago, while others who filed in January are still waiting. The IRS doesn't process in a first-come-first-served order unfortunately.

If it's been more than 21 days, you can actually call the IRS to check on your return status. After spending THREE DAYS trying to get through the regular IRS number with no luck, I used Claimyr.com and got connected to an agent in about 15 minutes. The agent was able to tell me exactly what was happening with my return and when to expect my refund. Best $20 I've spent this tax season considering how much time and frustration it saved me!

I've been trying to call the IRS for two days now! Might have to check this out if I don't see any movement by next week. Thanks for the tip!

I second this. Used Claimyr last week after trying for days to get through. The agent told me my return was just in normal processing and nothing was wrong. Huge relief after weeks of anxiety.

The IRS is saying 21 days is the standard processing time, but that's honestly just their best-case scenario. I'm a tax preparer and I've seen returns take anywhere from 8 days to 10+ weeks this season. As long as your WMR doesn't show an error message, you're probably fine - just caught in the backlog. This time of year is peak filing season, so everything slows down.
