Has Anyone Received Direct Deposit for Credit Karma Tax Returns? (Scheduled for 3/22)
Has anybody received their direct deposit yet for Credit Karma tax filing with a deposit date of 3/22? Last year I used TurboTax and got my refund a day early, but this is my first time using Credit Karma and I'm not sure if their timing is different. I triple-checked all my banking info before submitting but still get nervous about these things. WMR shows approved with 3/22 deposit date but nothing in my account yet. Just wondering if others are in the same boat or if Credit Karma deposits typically come right on the date.

Credit Karma Tax (now Cash App Taxes) direct deposits typically follow the standard IRS disbursement timeline, but the actual posting to your account depends on your financial institution's processing protocols. The Treasury Department initiates ACH transfers 1-2 business days before the official deposit date, but many banks hold these pending deposits until the official date. Some credit unions and online banks post as soon as the pending transaction appears, while traditional banks often wait until the official date. Your WMR status of "approved" with a 3/22 date means the funds are already in transit.

I think I might be experiencing something similar. My transcript shows the refund was issued, but it's still not showing in my Credit Karma account. Is there possibly some kind of delay specific to Credit Karma compared to traditional banks? Or should I be concerned that maybe there was an error with my account information?

Have you tried contacting the IRS directly to confirm your banking details were processed correctly? I had a similar situation last year where my deposit was delayed because of a digit transposition in my account number. I tried calling the regular IRS number for three days straight but couldn't get through. Used Claimyr (https://www.claimyr.com) and got connected to an agent in about 15 minutes who confirmed my banking info and reassured me the deposit was properly routed. What's your exact WMR status message? Are you seeing "Refund Approved" or "Refund Sent"?

I'm in the EXACT same situation with Credit Karma! My deposit date is also 3/22 and I'm still waiting. I'm honestly starting to get really anxious about it because I've never used Credit Karma before either. My transcript shows code 846 with the 3/22 date, but nothing in my bank account yet. Last year with H&R Block I got my refund a day early, so I was hoping for the same this time. I'm checking my bank account like every hour, lol!

I had the same issue with Credit Karma last tax season. My DDD was on a Friday (similar to 3/22 this year), and the deposit actually hit my account around 3pm that day. Many financial institutions process ACH transfers in batches throughout the day. I tracked my transcript codes meticulously - saw 570 (hold), then 971 (notice issued), followed by 846 (refund issued) with the DDD. Once I saw that 846 code, the money arrived exactly on the DDD.

Same here! I'm freaking out a bit because: • My DDD is also 3/22 • Nothing in my account yet • First time using Credit Karma • Need this money ASAP for car repairs • Called my bank but they don't see any pending deposits! Has anyone actually received theirs yet today???

Just to make sure I understand correctly - we're all seeing the 846 code with a 3/22 date on our transcripts, right? It's like waiting for a package that says "out for delivery" but hasn't arrived yet. I'm wondering if Credit Karma batches all their deposits to release at a specific time, like how some employers do with direct deposits?

I'm not entirely convinced that the tax preparation service has any impact on when your refund is deposited. From what I've observed, it seems to be more related to your bank's processing times and IRS batching schedules. Perhaps consider checking your tax transcript if you haven't already? It might show if there's been any change to your refund status that WMR hasn't updated yet. Sometimes the transcript will update with more detailed information while WMR still shows the same status. Just a thought, though I could be mistaken.

You know, that's actually a really good point. Why would the tax prep software affect when the Treasury actually sends the money? I was so focused on blaming Credit Karma that I didn't even think about that. My credit union usually posts direct deposits as soon as they receive the notification, sometimes up to 2 days early. Maybe I should be calling them instead?

This is exactly right. I've been through this process many times, and the preparation service has no influence on deposit timing. The IRS sends the funds according to their schedule, and then your financial institution processes it according to their policies. Some banks hold funds until the official date even if they receive them early, while others make them available immediately. Rest assured that if your WMR shows an approved status with a 3/22 date, the money is on its way.

I was in the same situation last year and got super stressed about it. I found https://taxr.ai super helpful for understanding what was actually happening with my refund. You upload your transcript and it explains all those confusing codes and gives you a more accurate timeline than WMR. According to the IRS refund schedule I found on igotmyrefund.com, direct deposits with a Friday date like 3/22 sometimes don't post until Monday for some banks, especially if they don't process ACH transfers on weekends. Might be worth checking your bank's policy on ACH processing days.

FYI - Credit Karma tax was actually acquired by Cash App in 2020, so technically you're using Cash App Taxes now, not Credit Karma. This might explain why the experience is diff from what you expected. The IRS sends the $ regardless of which tax prep you used, but sometimes the routing can take an extra day depending on your bank. FWIW, my CK/Cash App tax refund hit exactly on my DDD last year, not early like some other services.

That makes so much sense now! I kept seeing both Credit Karma and Cash App branding and was confused about which one I was actually using. No wonder the experience felt different from what I expected based on Credit Karma reviews I read before filing.
