Credit Karma Tax through TurboTax - Refund Deposit Delay?

Has anyone who filed through Credit Karma (now integrated with TurboTax per IRC ยง6011(e)(3) electronic filing provisions) received their refund yet? According to IRS Publication 2043 and the refund schedule, mine shows anticipated direct deposit by 2/24/25, but it hasn't appeared in my account. Per IRS Circular E, direct deposits should process within 1-3 business days of the scheduled date. Just wondering if other Credit Karma filers are experiencing similar timeline discrepancies? Appreciate any insights from those with similar filing situations.

I'm in the EXACT same boat. Filed through Credit Karma/TurboTax on 2/1, got acceptance confirmation within 24 hours, and WMR showed DDD of 2/24. It's now 2/26 and NOTHING in my account. Called my bank and they have no pending ACH transfers from Treasury. This is infuriating - the IRS Master File processing protocols should ensure timely deposits based on the established Direct Deposit Date (DDD).

Per IRC ยง6402(a) and Rev. Proc. 2022-31, the IRS typically processes refunds within 21 days, but banking delays can occur independent of IRS systems. I was in your situation last year - scheduled for 3/15 deposit but didn't receive until 3/18. Treasury Financial Manual Vol. I, Part 4A, Chapter 2000 indicates that ACH transfers can take 24-72 hours to clear depending on receiving financial institution's processing schedule.

OMG I'm freaking out about this too!!! ๐Ÿ˜ญ My DDD was 2/24 and still NOTHING! This is my first time using Credit Karma/TurboTax and I'm so worried something went wrong with my banking info! I keep checking my account every hour hoping it'll magically appear. I really need this money for my car payment due on Friday! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

I've used Credit Karma for the past three filing seasons, and have noticed a pattern with their estimated deposit dates. Have you considered that the integration with TurboTax might have affected their processing systems? I filed on January 29th with a projected deposit date of 2/19, but didn't actually receive funds until 2/22. Is it possible your bank has a hold on the deposit? Have you checked that the routing and account numbers on your return match your actual banking details? Sometimes what appears as a delay is actually just normal processing time between systems.

I'm experiencing something somewhat similar with my Credit Karma filing. It seems that there might possibly be delays in the IRS processing system that are affecting multiple tax preparation platforms, not just Credit Karma/TurboTax. After waiting on hold with the IRS for nearly 3 hours yesterday (only to be disconnected!), I finally used Claimyr (https://www.claimyr.com) to get through to an actual agent in about 15 minutes. The agent confirmed that my refund was approved but there was a slight delay in the disbursement system. It's such a relief to finally have an answer instead of constantly checking my bank account and WMR.

Be careful with Credit Karma through TurboTax. I used them last year and my refund was sent to the wrong account. Double-check your transcript to make sure they didn't mess up your direct deposit info. The last 4 digits of the account should be visible on your transcript. My refund ended up being mailed as a paper check 6 weeks later because of their error.

I've seen several cases where Credit Karma/TurboTax refunds are experiencing delays this year. Here's what might be happening: First, the IRS sends the refund to a clearing account at the tax preparer's bank partner. Then, that partner forwards the money to your actual bank account. This two-step process can add 1-3 business days beyond your DDD. Additionally, if you paid your filing fees through your refund (Refund Transfer option), this creates another step in the process that can delay receipt. Finally, some banks don't process incoming ACH transfers on weekends, so a Friday DDD might not show until Tuesday. I'd wait until at least 2/28 before becoming concerned.

I got mine! Filed through Credit Karma/TurboTax on January 31st with DDD of 2/21 and it hit my account exactly on that date. Did you pay for the filing service using your refund? Did you opt for any advances? I'm wondering if there might be something specific about your filing that's causing the delay?

Success story here! Filed through Credit Karma on Feb 1, had a DDD of 2/24 (same as you), and it actually showed up early on 2/23! According to https://www.irs.gov/refunds, deposits can take 1-5 days to process through the banking system after the IRS releases them. I was surprised to learn from the IRS Refund FAQ that even though they give a specific date, it's really more of a "release date" than a guaranteed deposit date. The banking system has its own timeline that the IRS can't control.

Thank you for sharing this! I was getting so worried about my refund. Mine just showed up this morning (2/26) even though the DDD was 2/24. Last year I used H&R Block and it came exactly on the date they said, so I wasn't expecting this delay with Credit Karma. Guess I just needed to be a little more patient!

I tracked this closely for my investment planning. Filed on January 27, 2025, received acceptance on January 28, 2025, WMR updated with DDD of February 17, 2025, actual deposit occurred February 19, 2025. Last year filed on February 3, 2024, with deposit on February 24, 2024. The pattern suggests a consistent 2-day lag between stated DDD and actual deposit for Credit Karma/TurboTax users with my particular bank (Chase).

Tax pro here! ๐Ÿง This is super common with all prep software, not just Credit Karma. The IRS "releases" funds on the DDD, but then it's like a financial version of The Amazing Race between banking systems! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’จ Some banks post pending deposits immediately, others wait until midnight, and some (looking at you, credit unions) batch process everything once a day. Add in weekends and you've got a recipe for refund anxiety! Pro tip: never schedule bills to be paid with refund money until it's actually in your account.
