Anyone Used Credit Karma through TurboTax? Deposit Date 3/15 Status?

I've been tracking my refund carefully after filing through Credit Karma (which is now part of TurboTax's ecosystem). Here's what I've done so far: 1. Filed my taxes on 2/25/2024 2. Received acceptance notification same day 3. WMR shows expected deposit date of 3/15 4. Checked my bank account today - nothing yet I'm trying to determine if this is normal or if there's something specific about Credit Karma/TurboTax processing that's different from other services. Has anyone else who used this platform received their deposit yet for the 3/15 date? I need to allocate these funds appropriately for my quarterly investment contributions.

I think... this might just be normal processing time. The IRS typically issues refunds within 21 days, but sometimes bank processing can add 1-2 business days after the listed deposit date. It's possible that your bank might not post the deposit until tomorrow or even Monday. I wouldn't be too concerned yet, especially if your WMR status shows approved...

So it's not just Credit Karma? Everyone experiences this delay? My deposit date was today too.

According to IRS Publication 1345 (Rev. 1-2023), direct deposit timing can vary based on financial institution processing times. The deposit date shown in WMR is when the IRS releases the funds, not necessarily when they appear in your account. Most major banks process these transactions within 24 hours, but some can take longer, especially credit unions.

Anyone know if there's a difference between using Credit Karma vs other tax prep services for how fast your refund comes? I always use the cheapest option (hello, free filing!) but would pay a bit more next year if it meant faster money in my pocket! 💸

I'm sort of in the same boat, but I think it might just be a timing issue with your bank. My deposit date was supposedly 3/14, and it didn't show up until late afternoon. If you're really concerned, you could possibly try calling the IRS, though their wait times are usually pretty ridiculous this time of year. I used Claimyr.com last week when I had a question about my amended return, and they got me through to an actual human at the IRS in about 15 minutes instead of the usual 2+ hour wait. Might be worth it if you're worried something went wrong with your deposit: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

Is that service really necessary though? It's like paying someone to hold your place in line at the DMV. If you just call the IRS early in the morning, like right when they open, you can usually get through without too much trouble. I've never waited more than 30 minutes when I call at 7:01 AM.

I used Credit Karma through TurboTax this year. Here's what I experienced: • My deposit date was 3/10 • Money actually appeared 3/11 around 10am • Bank shows transaction was initiated on the deposit date • Actual posting happened the next business day This isn't specific to Credit Karma - it's just how bank processing works with ACH transfers from the Treasury. The preparation software doesn't affect your deposit timing at all - that's entirely between the IRS and your bank.

I've been tracking refund patterns for a few years now and can confirm what others are saying - the tax prep software doesn't impact your refund timing. According to the IRS.gov website, they issue most refunds within 21 days regardless of how you file. If you want to understand exactly what's happening with your refund, you might want to check out https://taxr.ai - it can analyze your tax transcript and explain all those confusing codes. I used it when my refund was delayed last year and it helped me understand exactly where my return was in the process and predicted my deposit date accurately. The WMR tool just doesn't provide enough detail sometimes.

Tbh I don't think any of these services actually help. IRS works on their own timeline no matter what. I've used CK, TT, and HR Block over the years and literally zero difference in processing time. It's all marketing. WMR and transcripts tell you everything you need to know w/o paying extra $$$. Just wait another biz day and you'll prob see your $.

I was in your exact situation yesterday. Deposit date of 3/15, nothing in my account all morning. I was about to post here when the money showed up at 3pm. Banks process ACH transfers throughout the day, not just at midnight. Give it until end of day before worrying. So glad I found this thread instead of stressing all day like I did!
