Credit Karma DDD 3/20 - SBTPG Funded But No Deposit Yet?
Hey tax filers! I'm trying to figure out what's happening with my refund and wanted to break down my situation step-by-step: 1. Filed through Credit Karma and got accepted 2. Received direct deposit date of 3/20 on WMR 3. SBTPG shows as "funded" on their tracker 4. Got the "refund on the way" email from Credit Karma 5. Still no money in my account as of today Is anyone else who used Credit Karma experiencing this delay? This is my first time using them instead of TurboTax and I'm wondering if this is normal or if there's something I should be doing. Really appreciate any insights since I'm counting on this refund for some upcoming bills!

This happens every year with the tax prep services. They show "funded" but the banks hold it for 1-2 business days. SBTPG (Santa Barbara Tax Products Group) is the bank that handles Credit Karma refunds. They collect their fees then send the rest to you. Most people see the deposit 24-48 hours after the status changes to funded. Check again tomorrow morning.

I've been tracking mine for exactly 72 hours now since it showed funded. Still nothing in my account. My DDD was 3/20 and SBTPG showed funded at 9:43am on 3/20. It's ridiculous they can hold our money this long.

Thanks for explaining this! It's like being stuck in financial purgatory - you can see the money is approved but can't actually use it. Really helpful to understand SBTPG is basically a middleman in this process.

Does SBTPG batch process? Or send individually? Any way to contact them directly? Wondering if weekend delays apply.

I was in this exact situation last week. SBTPG showed funded for 3 days and nothing in my account. I was freaking out because I needed that money for rent. I tried calling the IRS but couldn't get through after 2 hours on hold. Finally used Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) and got connected to an IRS agent in about 15 minutes who confirmed everything was processed correctly on their end and the delay was with the bank. Money showed up the next morning. The peace of mind was worth it because I was seriously worried something had gone wrong with my return.

Seriously? You paid for a service to call the IRS when SBTPG is the one holding your money? The IRS already sent your refund - calling them doesn't speed up the bank's processing time. Seems like a waste of money when you could have just waited one more day.

I'm dealing with this right now too! Credit Karma/SBTPG system is frustrating but here's what I've learned: • SBTPG receives your refund from IRS on your DDD • They take out any tax prep fees you agreed to • They process in batches throughout the day • Most deposits hit accounts 24-48 hours after funding • If you have a traditional bank, add 1 more day • Online banks like Chime sometimes post faster Mine finally hit this morning after showing "funded" for about 36 hours. Hang in there!

Thank you! I've been checking my account every hour since yesterday. This is my third year with this exact same delay - you'd think I'd learn by now that "funded" doesn't mean "deposited" but the anxiety gets me every time when bills are due!

I'm wondering if maybe it depends on your bank too? I've noticed people with certain banks seem to get their deposits faster than others, even when they have the same DDD and funded status. Perhaps there's some kind of relationship between SBTPG and certain financial institutions that speeds things up.

Just to clarify - is there any way to see exactly when SBTPG sent it to your bank? I'm trying to figure out if the delay is on SBTPG's end or my bank's end at this point.

Been there, done that! SBTPG is always slow af with the transfers. I was super confused last yr bc my transcript showed everything was good but $ wasn't in my acct. Finally tried taxr.ai to analyze my transcript and it explained that once the DDD hits, the IRS part is done and it's just waiting on the banks. The site showed me exactly where in the process my refund was stuck. Saved me from calling IRS for something they couldn't help with anyway. Might be worth checking ur transcript to make sure everything's good on the IRS side at least.

Just a word of caution about this situation - I've been through this before and want to share some steps to protect yourself: 1. Double-check the bank account info on your return matches your actual account 2. Verify SBTPG has the correct routing information (sometimes there are errors) 3. If it goes beyond 3 business days after funding, call your bank to see if they're holding the deposit 4. Keep screenshots of all status updates from SBTPG 5. If it goes beyond 5 business days, contact Credit Karma support directly Last year I had a similar situation and discovered my bank had flagged the deposit for review because of the size. A quick call to them resolved it, but I would have never known without checking.

Have you checked if your bank processes deposits on the weekend? Many banks receive the transfer from SBTPG but don't actually post it to your account until the next business day. Could that be what's happening here? And have you verified that the account information is correct in both your tax return and on the SBTPG website? Sometimes small discrepancies can cause delays that aren't immediately obvious.

This is way better than what happened with TurboTax last year. At least with Credit Karma you can see the SBTPG status. With TurboTax last year, I had zero visibility into where my money was for almost a week after my DDD. The waiting is frustrating, but from what I've seen across various tax forums, almost everyone gets their money within 72 hours of the funded status. Hang in there - it's coming!
