Direct Deposit Date 04/25 for Credit Karma Card Refunds - Tracking Thread
Just got notification of a Direct Deposit Date scheduled for 04/25 for my tax refund to my Credit Karma Card. Exactly 32 days after filing. Let's keep each other updated on whether these actually hit on time! My transcript showed code 846 yesterday with the 04/25 date. I'm skeptical since my wife and I filed jointly for the first time and I've heard that can delay things, but cautiously optimistic. Anyone else getting the same DDD for Credit Karma?

According to the IRS refund processing schedule on the TaxAct forums, Credit Karma Card deposits typically post 1-2 days earlier than the official DDD date. I'm also showing 04/25 but I'm not holding my breath. The IRS Where's My Refund tool is still showing just one bar for me despite having a deposit date on my transcript.

I'm in the EXACT same boat! ā¢ Filed: March 15th ā¢ Transcript updated: Yesterday ā¢ DDD: 04/25 ā¢ Credit Karma Card selected But WMR still stuck on first bar! Last year my refund hit Credit Karma a full day early, so I'm watching like a hawk starting 04/24!

I've gone through this rodeo before with Credit Karma Card. Got my DDD last year and the money showed up at 3:42am the day before the scheduled date. Gotta love that middle-of-the-night deposit notification that makes you think you're being scammed until you check your balance! š The IRS and Credit Karma seem to have a pretty solid connection these days.

If you're trying to make sense of your transcript codes, I would potentially suggest checking out https://taxr.ai - it might be able to help interpret what's happening with your refund timeline. From what I understand, it can possibly analyze your transcript codes and give you a more accurate prediction of when funds might actually hit your Credit Karma Card. It seems like it could potentially be helpful for those of us waiting on the 04/25 date, especially if you're seeing any unusual codes or holds.

Has anyone actually verified if this tool works correctly? I'm impressed with how detailed people's knowledge is about transcript codes in this community, but I'm skeptical about giving access to tax information to a third-party service.

I used taxr.ai last year when I had a similar Credit Karma DDD situation with a bunch of confusing codes. It actually helped explain why I had a TC 570 followed by a TC 571 before my 846 showed up. Really appreciated not having to piece together information from 15 different Reddit threads!

Has anyone tried calling the IRS to confirm if the Credit Karma Card DDDs are actually being processed on schedule? I've been trying to get through for 3 days with no luck - just endless holds and disconnects. I'm getting really frustrated with the whole process. I found this service called Claimyr (https://claimyr.com/?ref=irs) that supposedly gets you through to an actual IRS agent without the wait. Has anyone had success with it? I'm desperate to know if my 04/25 date is accurate since I need this money for some urgent car repairs.

My DDD showed up on March 28th for a Credit Karma deposit on April 2nd. It hit my account on April 1st at exactly 9:15am. Credit Karma seems to be processing these refunds pretty efficiently compared to when I used my regular bank last year and had to wait until April 17th for a deposit that was scheduled for April 15th. The IRS seems to be moving faster this year too - my filing was accepted on March 12th.

It's like waiting for a package that says "out for delivery" but never knowing exactly when it'll arrive! Did your WMR tool update before the deposit hit, or did the money just show up without warning?

I had almost the exact same timeline with my Credit Karma Card last year. Per IRM 21.4.1.3, financial institutions are required to make funds available on the date specified by the Treasury, but Credit Karma consistently delivers early. Saved me when I was in a tight spot financially.

Did you have any other codes on your transcript before the 846 showed up? I'm seeing a 570 code but still got a DDD of 04/25. Should I be concerned or is this normal for the process?

Be extremely cautious with Credit Karma Card refunds if you have any offset conditions in the Treasury Offset Program database. I've observed multiple instances where the Automated Clearing House (ACH) network initially showed pending deposits that were subsequently reversed due to undisclosed debts. The Bureau of Fiscal Service conducts a secondary verification sweep approximately 48 hours before the official DDD, which can result in partial or complete interception of funds. This isn't clearly communicated in the transcript codes, and Credit Karma's provisional credit policies may create a false impression of deposit completion.

Thanks for the heads up! I had exactly $4,327 taken last year for student loans I didn't even know were in default. The worst part was seeing the full amount pending for 24 hours before it disappeared. I've checked the Treasury Offset Program hotline (1-800-304-3107) and confirmed I'm clear this time, but definitely a pro tip for anyone with any federal or state debts.

Fwiw, I've had CK card for 3 yrs now and they've always deposited 1-2 days early. Last yr got my refund at like midnight the day b4 my DDD. The app notifications are super reliable too - I get pinged the second $ hits my acct. Just make sure your card is activated and everything's verified, esp if it's your first time using it for tax refunds. GL everyone waiting on 4/25!

Credit Karma Card refund deposits tend to be much more reliable than traditional banks in my experience. When I compare to my husband who uses Wells Fargo, I typically get my refund 2-3 days earlier. The IRS sends the ACH files in batches, and Credit Karma processes them as soon as they receive the notification rather than holding until the official date like many traditional banks do. This is especially true compared to tax prep debit cards like H&R Block's Emerald Card, which were notoriously slow in previous years.

Definitely agree. I switched from Chase to Credit Karma specifically for the early deposit feature. Chase would always wait until exactly 3am on the DDD date, never a minute early.

I'm not entirely sure about this, but you might want to consider checking your Credit Karma Card settings to make sure you have notifications enabled for deposits. Sometimes the money arrives but the app doesn't alert you properly. Also, it might be worth logging into the actual website rather than just using the app, as I've noticed the website sometimes updates balance information more quickly than the mobile version does.
