H&R Block Direct Deposit Issues: MI Treasury sending paper checks instead - 2025 Filing Issue Alert

Found out Michigan Treasury is having major problems with H&R Block tax returns. If you filed through them and picked direct deposit, theres a glitch where the direct deposit info isnt showing up in their system. Their solution is just mailing paper checks instead. Just got mine updated and processed finally!

This is a known issue affecting multiple states, not just Michigan. The problem stems from a data transmission error between H&R Block's software and state tax systems. If you're waiting on a refund and used H&R Block with direct deposit, expect a paper check instead. Processing time is typically 2-3 weeks longer for paper checks.
