H&R Block Michigan State Refund - Paper Check Issue 2025

Just found out Michigan state refunds from H&R Block are coming by paper check instead of direct deposit. Anyone else dealing with this? Not sure why they changed it this year. Really need that money and paper checks take forever to process.

Tax professional here - this is correct. Due to new Michigan state regulations and H&R Block's processing system updates, all MI state refunds filed through them will be issued as paper checks for this tax season. Average processing time is 4-6 weeks from acceptance date.
