Direct Deposit Date Today with Credit Karma - Anyone Received Theirs Yet?

My direct deposit was supposedly scheduled for today, but I haven't seen anything show up in my Credit Karma account yet. I'm thinking perhaps there might be some delays in the system? Has anyone else who was possibly expecting a refund today actually received anything through Credit Karma? I'm somewhat concerned because this is my first time filing in the US system, though I understand these things can sometimes take time.

Credit Karma deposits can be delayed. This happens often. IRS sends them in batches. Banks process differently. Sometimes takes 24-48 hours after the scheduled date. Nothing to worry about yet. Check your transcript if possible.

That's interesting to hear. I've been comparing my experience with TurboTax direct deposits from previous years, and those always seemed to arrive earlier than the scheduled date rather than later. Is Credit Karma known for being slower than other banks for tax refunds?

Thank you for explaining this! I was getting worried because: • I need this money for rent • My transcript showed today as the deposit date • Called Credit Karma and they said they don't see any pending deposits Really stressful when you're counting on that money...

When you say check the transcript, do you mean the IRS transcript? My deposit date shows today but nothing has arrived.

I've had this happen before with Credit Karma. Here's what you need to do: First, check your WMR (Where's My Refund) status to confirm the deposit date. Second, verify your transcript shows an 846 code with today's date. Third, know that Credit Karma sometimes takes a full business day to process IRS deposits. Fourth, if nothing shows by tomorrow afternoon, contact Credit Karma support directly. Fifth, remember that if today is your DD date, the IRS has just released the funds - it's not necessarily in your account instantly.

According to the IRS.gov FAQ section, direct deposits can take 1-5 business days to appear even after the official deposit date! I was freaking out last month when mine was late. After calling the IRS for hours with no answer, I finally used Claimyr (https://www.claimyr.com) and got through to an agent in about 15 minutes. They confirmed my deposit was sent but explained that Credit Karma sometimes batches deposits differently than traditional banks. Saved me days of stress!

OMG I need my money NOW!! Not sure I want to pay for a service just to talk to the IRS though!!! Does it really work?? I've been trying to call them all morning and keep getting disconnected or told the wait is over 2 hours!!

Same boat here. DD date today w/ CK. Nothing yet. Checked WMR and transcript again - def says today. CK customer svc said they don't hold deposits but sometimes IRS sends in batches throughout the day. Last yr mine hit around 3pm EST even tho DD date was that day. Hang tight - prob coming later today or tmrw.

I had my direct deposit scheduled for March 15th with Credit Karma, and it didn't show up until 10am the next day (March 16th). I was worried at first, but after checking my transcript using taxr.ai on March 15th, I could see that everything was normal and the system predicted it would likely show up within 24-48 hours of the deposit date. The practical solution is to give it until tomorrow before getting too concerned.

I received my refund exactly 37 hours after my scheduled deposit date with Credit Karma. The IRS transcript showed a deposit date of April 2nd, but the money didn't hit my Credit Karma account until April 4th at 9:13am. Has anyone else noticed if weekends affect the timing?

Haha, at least you got yours eventually! 😅 I'm still waiting and trying not to check my account every 15 minutes. I think weekends definitely slow things down, though I'm not 100% sure how much.

I've been with Credit Karma for three tax seasons now, and I've noticed they're consistently a day behind my deposit date. Last year my transcript showed April 15th, but the money appeared on April 16th around noon. The year before was similar - always that one day delay. I think it's just how their processing system works with the Treasury deposits.

I might be wrong, but I believe Credit Karma sometimes takes longer than traditional banks. Maybe consider switching to a different bank next year if this is a recurring issue? I've heard that some online banks like Chime actually post tax refunds up to two days earlier than the official date, though I'm not entirely sure if that's always the case.

I appreciate your insight about the ACH processing differences. Do you know if the advance funding from Chime applies specifically to IRS ACH transactions, or is it only for regular direct deposits like payroll?

I've been fighting this battle with Credit Karma for THREE years now! Every single time, my refund is delayed 1-2 days beyond the IRS deposit date. I've called them repeatedly and always get the same answer - they don't hold deposits, but they don't process them as quickly as some other banks. I've documented every instance and even sent screenshots to their support team. Still no improvement. Switching to a local credit union next year!

Have you double-checked that your Credit Karma account number on your tax return is correct? I had a similar situation last year where my deposit was scheduled but never arrived. After days of panic, I realized I had transposed two digits in my account number when I filed. The IRS had to mail me a paper check instead, which took an additional 4 weeks. Might be worth verifying all your information is accurate?

Mine was supposed to hit today too with Credit Karma. Nothing yet. Wasn't it just last month when people were complaining about the same issue with Credit Karma deposits? I remember seeing multiple threads about delayed deposits even though transcripts showed the correct date. Is this becoming a pattern with them? I've used them for banking for 2 years and tax refunds always seem to be the one thing that's consistently delayed.

According to IRS Publication 2043, the IRS issues refunds to financial institutions, but the timing of when those funds are made available to taxpayers is determined by the financial institution's policies. Credit Karma, as a newer banking service, may have different processing timeframes than traditional banks. The standard processing time allowed under Regulation CC permits banks up to one business day to make electronic deposits available.

I'm experiencing the exact same situation! My transcript shows today as the deposit date with Credit Karma, but nothing has appeared yet. Reading through everyone's experiences here is actually reassuring - it seems like Credit Karma consistently takes 1-2 days longer than the IRS deposit date. I've been checking my account obsessively since 6am, but based on what others are sharing, it sounds like I should expect it tomorrow or the day after. Thanks for starting this thread - it's helping calm my nerves knowing this is apparently normal for Credit Karma users!

I'm in the same exact boat! New to filing in the US and Credit Karma banking, so this delay had me really worried. It's such a relief to see so many people confirming this is normal for Credit Karma. I've been refreshing my account every few minutes since midnight, but now I'll try to relax and wait until tomorrow. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - it really helps newcomers like us understand what to expect!

Don't stress too much about this! I've been using Credit Karma for tax refunds for the past 3 years, and they're consistently 24-48 hours behind the IRS deposit date. It's frustrating, but totally normal for them. Your transcript showing today's date is actually a good sign - it means the IRS has processed and sent your refund. Credit Karma just processes ACH deposits slower than traditional banks. I'd expect to see it hit your account tomorrow morning or Friday at the latest. In the meantime, avoid calling their customer service - they'll just tell you they don't see any pending deposits, which doesn't mean much since they process in batches. Hang in there!

This is exactly what I needed to hear! As someone new to the US tax system, I was starting to panic thinking I had made some mistake with my filing or bank information. It's incredibly helpful to know that Credit Karma's 24-48 hour delay is their standard pattern. I'll stop obsessively checking my account every hour and just wait patiently until tomorrow or Friday. Really appreciate you taking the time to explain this - it makes such a difference for those of us who don't know what's normal yet!

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! My IRS transcript shows today as the deposit date for Credit Karma, but my account is still empty. Reading through everyone's responses here is really reassuring though - it sounds like Credit Karma consistently takes 1-2 business days longer than the official IRS deposit date. I've been checking my account every 30 minutes since this morning, but based on what others are sharing, it seems like this delay is just part of how Credit Karma processes tax refunds. Going to try to be patient and check again tomorrow morning. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences - it really helps to know this is normal!

I'm in the exact same situation too! My transcript shows today's deposit date with Credit Karma but nothing yet. Reading everyone's experiences here is so helpful - I was getting really anxious thinking something went wrong with my filing. It's reassuring to know that Credit Karma's 1-2 day delay seems to be their standard processing time rather than an error. I've also been checking my account constantly since early this morning, but now I'll try to relax and wait until tomorrow or Friday. Thanks for sharing your experience and helping confirm this is just how Credit Karma works with tax refunds!

It's such a relief to read everyone's experiences and learn that Credit Karma's 1-2 day delay is just their normal processing pattern.
