Won my DEO appeal but unsure what happens next - payment timeline?
Just got the determination letter saying my appeal for unemployment benefits was successful! DEO reversed their decision, which is a HUGE relief after fighting this for almost 6 weeks. The letter says 'determination reversed' but doesn't explain what happens next or when I can expect payment. Do I need to submit anything else? Call someone? Or just wait for the money to show up? I'm paranoid about missing some crucial step and having them use that as an excuse to deny me again. This whole process has been so confusing. Anyone who's successfully won an appeal know what the next steps are and roughly how long until I see the $4,750 they owe me?

•Thanks! That's reassuring. I was worried there might be another form to fill out or something. So they just automatically process the back payments?

Congratulations on winning your appeal! Here's what happens next: DEO has to process the reversed determination, which means they'll release any benefits that were held during the appeal process. You don't need to do anything specific - just continue claiming your weeks as normal. However, I always recommend checking your CONNECT account daily to make sure nothing new appears in your "to-do" items. The payment timeline varies but typically takes 5-14 business days after the favorable determination. Make sure your payment method (direct deposit or Way2Go card) is properly set up in the system. You should see the status change from "appeal" or "adjudication" to "processed" before payment is released. If it's been more than 3 weeks since your favorable determination and you haven't received payment, that's when you should consider calling DEO to check on the status.

•This is so helpful, thank you! I'll keep an eye on the status changes in CONNECT. My direct deposit info is already set up so hopefully it'll be smooth sailing from here.

I won my appeal last month and STILL haven't seen a penny!! Been calling DEO for 2 weeks straight and can't get through to anyone!!! System is BROKEN beyond belief. They'll probably make you wait forever too.

•Oh no, that's exactly what I'm afraid of! Have you tried emailing them or visiting a CareerSource office? This is making me nervous...

•Tried EVERYTHING! Emails, CareerSource (useless btw, they just tell you to call the same number), even had my state rep's office try to help. Nothing works with these people!!

I had a similar experience back in January. Won my appeal after they incorrectly claimed I was fired for misconduct (I was laid off). After the determination was reversed, I had to wait about 12 days for the payment to process. One thing that helped me was using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to actually get through to a DEO agent on the phone. I was getting nowhere with the regular number, but Claimyr got me connected to an actual person who confirmed my payment was being processed. They have a video showing how it works here: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj The agent was able to tell me exactly when to expect payment and confirmed everything was in order. Gave me peace of mind during the waiting period.

•Does that actually work? I thought those services were scams. might try it tho cause ive been trying to reach DEO for DAYS

•It worked for me. Not cheap but worth it for the peace of mind. The DEO agent I spoke with was actually really helpful once I finally got through.

I think what everyone here is missing is that OP needs to check if the appeal was for monetary or non-monetary determination. If it was monetary (like wage issues) they need to look at their monetary determination page to see if it's updated. If non-monetary (like disqualification for misconduct etc) then yes just wait for payment. But sometimes they'll update determination but NOT eligibility and those are two different things in the system.

•It was non-monetary - they initially disqualified me claiming I didn't provide adequate work search proof, but I appealed with all my documentation. So based on what you're saying, I just need to wait for payment? Should I be looking for any specific status change in my account?

•Yes, for non-monetary you should look for your claim status to change from "appeal" or "adjudication" to "eligible" and then "processed." And make sure there aren't any NEW issues popping up - sometimes they resolve one thing but find another reason to put a hold. DEO loves to play these games.

I went through this exact situation in February. After winning my appeal, you need to make sure all weeks that were previously disqualified have been changed to "eligible" in your payment history. Log into CONNECT, go to "View and Maintain Account Information," then "Payment History." If any weeks still show "Disqualified" or "Hold," you might need to contact DEO to have them manually adjust those weeks. In my case, most weeks automatically updated to "Eligible" within 3 days of the determination letter, but two weeks remained on hold. I had to call DEO, and an agent manually fixed those weeks. The money for all weeks hit my account about 5 business days after everything showed "Eligible." Keep checking your CONNECT account daily until you see all weeks changed to "Eligible" or "Processed.

•Thanks for the detailed steps! I just checked and ALL of my weeks still show "Hold - Adjudication" status even though I got the determination letter. It's been 3 days since I received it. Should I be concerned or give it more time?

•Give it until the end of this week - sometimes their system takes 5-7 business days to update all statuses after an appeal decision. If by next Monday they still show on hold, then I'd definitely try to contact DEO directly. The determination letter proves you won, so they'll have to fix it if the system doesn't update automatically.

•Two days?! That would be amazing. I have direct deposit set up already, not the Way2Go card. Hopefully that won't cause any delays.

Just to add one more important detail - make sure you're still claiming your weeks on schedule even while waiting for the appeal payment. Some people stop claiming because they're waiting for the appeal result, but you need to keep claiming to maintain eligibility for any current and future weeks. The back pay from your appeal is separate from your ongoing claims.

•Yes! I've been religious about claiming my weeks on time. Haven't missed a single one. Really hoping this all gets resolved soon. Thanks for all the advice everyone!

Congratulations on winning your appeal! I went through something similar about 8 months ago. After my determination was reversed, it took exactly 9 business days for the payment to hit my account. The key thing I learned is to be patient but vigilant - check your CONNECT account every morning to watch for status changes. One tip that helped me: screenshot your determination letter and save it somewhere safe. If there are any delays or issues, having that proof readily available makes phone calls with DEO much smoother. Also, don't panic if you see the status bounce around a bit in the system - mine went from "Hold" to "Eligible" to "Processing" to "Processed" over the course of a week. The $4,750 you're owed should include all the back weeks plus any applicable federal supplements. You've done the hard part by winning the appeal, now it's just waiting for their system to catch up!

•This is really helpful, thank you! I definitely need to take screenshots of everything. I've been so focused on just getting to this point that I didn't think about documenting it all. The detail about status changes bouncing around is reassuring - I'll try not to stress if I see weird fluctuations in my account. Nine business days sounds reasonable, especially after waiting 6 weeks for the appeal decision itself!

Congratulations on winning your appeal! I went through this exact situation about 4 months ago. After getting my determination letter, it took about 8 business days for the payment to show up in my account. One thing I wish someone had told me - keep a close eye on your CONNECT account for any new "to-do" items that might pop up. Sometimes even after winning an appeal, they'll flag something else that needs attention. In my case, they wanted me to verify my identity again (even though I'd already done it months earlier). Also, don't be surprised if the payment comes in chunks rather than one lump sum. My back pay came as separate deposits for each week that had been held up. The total amount was correct, just spread across multiple transactions over 2-3 days. You've cleared the biggest hurdle by winning the appeal - now it's just a matter of letting their system process everything. Stay patient but keep checking daily!

•Thank you for sharing your experience! The detail about payments potentially coming in chunks is really helpful - I would have probably panicked if I saw partial payments instead of the full amount at once. I'll definitely keep monitoring for any new to-do items. It's crazy how they can keep finding new things to verify even after you've already been through the whole process. The identity verification thing happening again after months sounds so typical of DEO's system. Really appreciate the heads up about staying patient but vigilant!

Congratulations on winning your appeal! That's a huge victory after 6 weeks of fighting. Based on my experience and what I've seen others go through, you're in the home stretch now. You don't need to submit anything else or call anyone - the system should automatically process your back payments once the determination is fully updated in their system. Here's what to expect: Check your CONNECT account daily and watch for your claim status to change from "Hold - Adjudication" to "Eligible" and then "Processed." This usually takes 5-10 business days after receiving the determination letter. Your $4,750 should include all the back weeks that were held up during the appeal process. One important thing - keep claiming your current weeks on schedule even while waiting for the back pay. Don't let the appeal resolution interrupt your ongoing claims. Also, make sure your direct deposit info is current in the system. If it's been more than 2 weeks since your determination letter and you still don't see status changes or payments, that's when you might need to contact DEO to check if there's a system glitch. But for now, try to relax - you've won the hard part!

•This is exactly what I needed to hear! Thank you for the clear timeline and reassurance. I've been checking my account obsessively and it's still showing "Hold - Adjudication" but it's only been 3 days since I got the determination letter. I'll try to be patient and give it the full 5-10 business days you mentioned. Really appreciate the reminder about continuing to claim weeks - I definitely don't want to mess anything up at this point. The stress of this whole process has been overwhelming but everyone's advice here is giving me hope that the end is finally in sight!

Huge congratulations on winning your appeal! That must be such a relief after 6 weeks of stress. I went through a similar situation about 3 months ago - won my appeal for a work search issue and was terrified I'd mess up the next steps somehow. Here's what happened for me: After getting the determination letter, it took about 7 business days for all my held weeks to change from "Hold - Adjudication" to "Eligible" in CONNECT. Then another 3 days for the actual payments to hit my bank account. The total was around $3,200 in back pay and it came as one lump sum, not separate weekly payments like some others have mentioned. You're right to keep checking daily - I was obsessive about it too! Just make sure you don't have any new issues pop up in your to-do list while you're waiting. Sometimes their system can be glitchy after processing appeals. You've done everything right by continuing to claim your weeks. Now it's just waiting for their slow system to catch up. The hardest part is behind you - try to breathe a little easier knowing you have that determination letter as proof!

•Thank you so much! It really is such a relief to finally have that determination letter in hand. Seven days for the status to change and then three more for payment sounds very reasonable - I'm definitely going to try to be patient and not panic if it takes the full timeline you mentioned. It's encouraging to hear yours came as one lump sum too. I keep refreshing my account multiple times a day but I know that won't make it process any faster! Really appreciate you sharing your experience and the reminder to breathe easier. This community has been so helpful during this stressful process.

Congratulations on winning your appeal! That's such a huge relief after fighting for 6 weeks. I went through something similar last year - DEO initially denied me for "insufficient earnings" but I had all my pay stubs and W-2s to prove otherwise. After I got my favorable determination letter, it took about 12 business days for the money to actually hit my account. The key things I learned: don't stop claiming your weekly certifications (sounds like you're already on top of that), and check your CONNECT account every morning for status changes. Mine went through several status changes - from "Hold" to "Pending" to "Eligible" to "Processed" - before I finally got paid. One thing that really helped me was keeping a daily log of what status I saw in my account. That way if something seemed stuck for too long, I had documentation to reference when I called DEO. Your $4,750 should process automatically once their system updates everything - no additional forms needed from you. The waiting is the worst part, especially after already waiting so long for the appeal decision. But you've got the determination letter as proof, so you're in good shape. Hang in there!

•Thank you for the detailed advice! Keeping a daily log is such a smart idea - I wish I had thought of that earlier in this process. I'm definitely going to start documenting the status changes from now on. It's reassuring to know that 12 business days is still within normal range, even though it feels like forever when you're waiting for money you desperately need. The fact that you had a similar earnings-related issue and successfully got it resolved gives me even more confidence. I'll try to be patient and let their system work through all the status changes you mentioned. Really appreciate you sharing your timeline and tips!

Congratulations on winning your appeal! That's such a huge weight off your shoulders after 6 weeks of fighting. From what I've seen in this community, you're definitely on the right track - no additional forms or calls needed, just patience while their system processes everything. I haven't been through an appeal myself, but I've watched friends go through similar situations. The timeline seems to vary quite a bit - some see money in under a week, others wait 2+ weeks. The key thing everyone mentions is watching for those status changes in CONNECT from "Hold - Adjudication" to "Eligible" to "Processed." One thing I'd suggest based on what others have shared here: take screenshots of everything, especially that determination letter. If there are any hiccups down the road, having that documentation readily available will save you headaches. You've already done the hardest part by winning the appeal. Now it's just waiting for DEO's slow system to catch up with the decision. Keeping my fingers crossed that your $4,750 processes quickly and smoothly!

•Thank you so much for the encouragement and advice! I really appreciate everyone in this community sharing their experiences - it makes this whole process feel less isolating. Taking screenshots is definitely something I should have been doing from the beginning. I'm going to go back and document everything I can find in my account right now, especially that determination letter. It's comforting to know that even though timelines vary, people are eventually getting their money. The waiting is torture but at least I know I'm not missing any steps. Thanks again for the support - it means more than you know during this stressful time!

Congratulations on winning your appeal! That's such a huge victory after 6 weeks of fighting the system. I went through a similar appeal process about 5 months ago when DEO incorrectly denied me for "voluntary quit" even though I was clearly laid off due to company downsizing. After I received my favorable determination letter, it took exactly 11 business days for the back payments to hit my account. Here's what I learned: the system needs time to update all the held weeks from "Hold - Adjudication" to "Eligible" status, which usually happens within the first week. Then it takes another few days for the actual payment processing. You're absolutely right to keep claiming your weekly certifications - that's crucial. Also, don't panic if you see your account status fluctuate or if new "to-do" items appear. Sometimes their system gets confused after processing appeals and might ask you to verify things you've already verified. Your $4,750 should process automatically once everything updates in their system. The hardest part is definitely over - you have that determination letter as proof, so even if there are small delays, you will get your money. Try to check your account once a day rather than obsessively refreshing (easier said than done, I know!). You've got this!

•Thank you so much! Eleven days is totally reasonable after everything I've been through. It's really reassuring to hear from someone who dealt with a similar wrongful denial situation. The "voluntary quit" vs layoff mix-up sounds just as frustrating as my work search documentation issue. I'm definitely going to try to limit myself to checking once a day instead of every few hours - you're right that the obsessive refreshing doesn't help anything! Having that determination letter does give me peace of mind that I have solid proof if anything goes wrong. Really appreciate you sharing your timeline and encouraging words. This community has been such a lifeline during this whole nightmare process!
