PA UC appeal won on June 3rd - When will my backpay arrive?
So I finally won my unemployment appeal after waiting nearly 3 months! The referee ruled in my favor on June 3rd (got the determination letter in my dashboard yesterday). I was laid off back in March but my employer falsely claimed I quit. Now that I won, how long until I actually see the money? I'm owed about $6,900 in back benefits and I'm getting pretty desperate at this point. Has anyone gone through this process recently? What's the timeline look like for them to release funds after a successful appeal? My rent is due next week and I really need this money.

Congrats on winning your appeal! In my experience, it took about 2 weeks to see the money after my appeal decision. But that was back in January, so things might be different now. Did your portal status change to 'payments pending' or anything like that?

•Thanks! My portal still just shows the appeal decision but nothing about payments yet. I'll keep checking. Really hoping it doesn't take too long - 2 weeks sounds better than what I feared!

The typical processing time is 7-21 days for back payments after an appeal decision, but it can vary based on your specific case and current workload at the PA UC office. Make sure all your weekly certifications are completed for the back weeks you're claiming - sometimes people forget this step and it causes delays. Also check that your payment method (direct deposit or Money Network card) is properly set up in the system.

•I did file all my weekly claims even during the appeal process like the website said to. My direct deposit info has been in there since I first applied. Guess I just have to wait and hope for the best.

•Ugh, that's what I'm afraid of. April to June would put me in a really bad spot. I've been trying to call but can't get through.

Wait, did your portal show all the weeks as 'disqualified' and then they changed to something else after you won? I'm in the middle of an appeal right now and trying to figure out what to expect. My employer is also lying about why I was let go.

•Yeah, all my weeks showed 'disqualified' during the appeal. Today they still show that, but there's a notice about the appeal decision. I think they have to manually go through and change each week's status.

If you need to reach PA UC to check on your payment status, I'd recommend Claimyr (claimyr.com). They helped me get through to an actual person after weeks of busy signals. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 showing how it works. It made a huge difference with my backpay situation - the agent was able to expedite my payments after I got through.

•Never heard of this before but I'm desperate enough to try anything at this point. I'll check it out, thanks!

When I won my appeal last year it took exactly 10 days for the money to hit my account. But I think I just got lucky because my friend waited almost a month for hers. Definitely keep calling them!

•This varies so much from person to person. I won my appeal in March and it took 8 business days for payment. The key is making sure all your weekly certifications were done properly for the back weeks. If you missed filing for even one week during the appeal process, that can create a whole new mess. Double-check your dashboard to make sure all weeks show as properly filed.

UPDATE: Just logged in and now my portal is showing 'payments in progress' for all my back weeks! Looks like they're processing them already. Thanks everyone for the advice and support!

•That's awesome! You should see the money in 2-3 business days then. Such a relief, right?
