Successfully got 7 weeks backdated on DEO claim - will I get backdated $600 federal too?
After fighting with DEO for almost 2 months, I FINALLY got my unemployment claim backdated to include 7 missing weeks from March-April 2025! It was such a headache - kept getting the runaround from different agents until I reached someone who actually knew what they were doing.\n\nMy question is: for those 7 backdated weeks, will I also receive the Federal supplement payments that I missed? I'm not even sure which federal program is active right now (if any?), but I heard some people mentioning extra money beyond the regular Florida benefit amount. \n\nHas anyone else recently had their claim backdated successfully? Did you receive any federal supplement for those missed weeks? The DEO agent wasn't clear about this and I'm trying to figure out what to expect in my payment.

congrats on getting it backdated! so hard to get through to anyone at DEO these days. i got my claim backdated last month but there is NO federal money anymore. that $600 was only during the pandemic. they dont have any extra federal money now. at least thats what 3 different ppl told me when i called.

Oh no, that's disappointing! I was really counting on getting that extra money too. Thanks for letting me know though. Did it take long for your backdated payments to hit your account after they approved it?

The $600 federal supplement was part of the FPUC program during the pandemic and is NOT available anymore. Currently there are no federal supplements to Florida's regular unemployment. The maximum you'll get is Florida's $375 weekly benefit amount. Congrats on getting the backdate though! That's a victory these days!

This is exactly right. There's been a lot of confusion about this. The $600 FPUC payments ended years ago in July 2020, later replaced by a $300 supplement that also ended. Currently, there are no active federal supplements to state unemployment - just the regular state benefit (max $375/week in Florida). \n\nAlso worth noting, OP - any backdated payments should appear in your CONNECT account under

How did you finally get your claim backdated? I've been trying for WEEKS and keep getting nowhere. I call and can never get through - just busy signals or automated disconnect. Did you have to submit any special documentation or talk to a specific department?

It was a nightmare honestly. I called about 25-30 times over several weeks. The trick was finally getting through to an actual adjudicator instead of a regular agent. The regular agents kept telling me different things and couldn't actually help. I had to provide my original application confirmation email to prove when I first applied, plus documents showing I was eligible during those missing weeks.

I HAD THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPEN!!!! Except it was 5 weeks for me, not 7. And I got the backpay for the regular FL unemployment but NOTHING ELSE. The DEO system is complete garbage... they keep saying \

DEO has always been like this sadly... I worked there briefly in 2019 and even back then the systems were falling apart. CONNECT is built on ancient technology. Most DEO employees are just as frustrated as claimants.

I was in a similar situation trying to get my claim backdated for about 6 weeks. After weeks of trying to get through on the phones with no luck, I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to connect with an actual DEO agent. They got me through in about 20 minutes instead of spending hours redialing. There's a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj\n\nThe agent I spoke with was actually helpful and processed my backdate request on the spot. Like others mentioned though, there's no federal supplement anymore - just the regular Florida amount.

Thanks for sharing this! I wish I'd known about this service before spending weeks trying to get through. I'll definitely keep this in mind if I need to reach DEO again. Did your backdated payments come through quickly after you spoke with them?

my cousin works at career source and he said DEO is overwhelmed right now with backdating requests... something about their systems being updated and causing delays. anyway no federal money being added these days so dont expect anything extra beyond your regular florida payment sorry

CareerSource staff don't actually work for DEO, though they can sometimes have good information. The system update your cousin mentioned was scheduled for mid-2025 (assuming that's happening now), which has been causing some delays in processing. \n\nFor anyone reading this thread later: CareerSource offices can be helpful for job search assistance, but they can't directly fix CONNECT issues or process backdates - only actual DEO staff can do that.

My claim took forever to process too but I finally got it backdated. Here's what worked for me:\n\n1. Called DEO precisely at 7:30 AM when they open\n2. Selected option 5 (not option 2 like most people do)\n3. When asked for my claimant ID, I pressed # instead of entering it\n4. Got transferred to a specialized agent who fixed it in minutes\n\nHope this helps someone! And as everyone said, there's no federal supplement anymore. Just the regular Florida amount (which is pathetically low compared to other states).

Just an FYI for anyone following this thread - backdated payments should appear in your CONNECT account within 48-72 hours after approval. If they don't show up in your payment history after 3 business days, you should call DEO again. Sometimes the approval gets entered but the payment doesn't process automatically and needs a manual push.

This is really helpful, thank you! It's been about 36 hours since they approved my backdate so I'll keep checking CONNECT. If I don't see anything by Monday, I'll try calling again. Fingers crossed it processes automatically!

I'm still fighting with them over MY backdated weeks from JANUARY! Every time I call they tell me something different. One agent says it's approved, next one says there's no record of the request. Another says I need to submit more documentation. Then the next says everything looks fine just keep waiting. I'M GOING INSANE DEALING WITH DEO!!!!!

It sounds like your case might be stuck in limbo between departments. This happened to me too. Ask specifically to speak with a Tier 2 agent or someone from the \
