DEO adjudication message disappeared from CONNECT - is my claim approved or denied?

I've been stuck in adjudication for over 8 weeks on my Florida unemployment claim. When I logged in this morning, I noticed the 'pending adjudication' message that was previously on my CONNECT dashboard is completely gone. My claim status still shows 'Active' but there's no payment scheduled yet. Does this mean my claim was approved or denied? Has anyone else experienced this? I'm nervous to get my hopes up but also worried they might have denied me without sending a notification. Should I keep claiming weeks while I wait to see what happens?

The same thing happened to me in January! The adjudication message disappeared but no determination letter showed up for almost a week. In my case it was actually good news - they approved my claim. The payment showed up 4 days after the message disappeared. Keep claiming your weeks for sure.

That's encouraging! Did you get any kind of notification when they approved it, or did the money just show up?

When the adjudication message disappears, it usually means DEO has made a determination on whatever issue they were investigating. The outcome could be approval OR denial - you won't know until either: 1. You receive a determination letter in your CONNECT inbox 2. A payment is processed for your weeks 3. Your claim status changes Definitely continue claiming weeks while you wait. If approved, they'll process those weeks you've claimed. The determination should appear within 72 hours of the message disappearing in most cases.

not always true... mine disappeared for 2 weeks then came BACK and then finally got approved a month later. DEO systems are a complete mess

You're right - there are exceptions. The CONNECT system has been known to show inconsistent status updates. If the adjudication message returns, it could mean they discovered another issue requiring investigation or that the first issue wasn't fully resolved.

mine disappeared then the next day my CONNECT account showed I was disqualified for "not being able and available for work" even though I answered all questions correctly. had to file an appeal. total nightmare.

Oh no, that's exactly what I'm afraid of! Did you eventually win your appeal?

CALL THEM!!! Don't just wait around. This happened to me and I waited 3 weeks after the message disappeared and nothing changed. The ONE time I finally got through to a live person they told me they needed additional info from me that was never requested anywhere in my account. The system is BROKEN!!!

I've been trying to call for weeks but can't get through. It's always busy or disconnects me after the automated message. So frustrating!

I had this exact situation back in February. The adjudication message disappeared, and my account status changed from 'Pending' to 'Active' but no payments. I spent days trying to reach someone at DEO with no luck - constant busy signals and disconnections. Finally tried Claimyr (claimyr.com) which got me through to a DEO agent in about 40 minutes. Turns out they had approved my claim but there was a payment hold that needed to be manually removed. The agent fixed it right away and my payments started processing the next day. Check out their demo: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj Definitely keep claiming weeks in the meantime!

I've never heard of Claimyr before. Did you have to give them your personal information? I'm hesitant to use third-party services with my unemployment claim.

They don't access your DEO account or anything like that. They just connect your call to DEO and stay on the line until a real person answers. Then they disconnect and you talk directly with the DEO agent. It saved me days of constant redialing.

when the adjudcation message dissappears it means the issue is being moved to another dept for final review. its not approved or denied yet. they have to send you a determination letter no matter what. check your CONNECT inbox every day. sometimes the emails dont get sent but the letters are in your inbox.

Thanks, I've been checking my inbox obsessively! No determination letter yet but I'll keep looking.

One important thing to note: if your claim was approved, you should see your weekly benefit amount and maximum benefit amount on your CONNECT homepage. If those numbers appear, it's usually a good sign even if payments haven't started yet. If you see an "Eligible Redetermined" status, that typically means approval. If you see "Ineligible" or "Disqualified" that indicates a denial. Keep in mind that even after approval, the first payment can take 1-3 weeks to process as they verify your waiting week and work search requirements.

I do see my weekly benefit amount ($325) and maximum benefit amount ($4,225) on my homepage. That's been there since I first applied though, even while the adjudication message was showing. Is that still a good sign?

Yes, that's generally a positive indicator. If they had determined you were ineligible, those amounts would typically disappear or show as $0. Since your claim is showing as 'Active' with benefit amounts displayed, I'm cautiously optimistic for you. Just keep claiming your weeks and monitoring your CONNECT inbox.

I spent 3 months in this exact situation and found out they had sent mail to my old address requesting documents even though I updated my address in CONNECT. By the time I figured it out I had to start a whole new claim. The system is designed to make people give up.

THIS!!! happened to me too!!!!! they sent physical mail even tho everything else was electronic. makes NO sense

UPDATE: Just checked my account again and now there's a determination letter in my inbox saying I've been approved! The letter is dated yesterday but just showed up today. No payment scheduled yet but at least I know the adjudication was resolved positively. Thanks everyone for your help and advice!

Congratulations on getting approved! Your experience really shows how unpredictable the CONNECT system can be. The fact that the adjudication message disappeared and then the determination letter appeared the next day is actually pretty typical timing from what I've seen. For others still waiting - this is a great example of why it's worth checking your CONNECT inbox daily even if you don't get email notifications. The payments should start processing within the next few business days now that you have that approval letter. Keep us posted on when the money hits your account!

This is so helpful to hear! I'm currently in week 6 of adjudication and seeing success stories like this gives me hope. The timing really does seem random - some people wait months while others get resolved quickly. @Ava Harris did you have to do anything special or submit additional documents during your adjudication period, or did they just work through it on their own?
