How long after adjudication status disappears do DEO payments finally arrive?

I've been stuck in the dreaded adjudication phase for almost 7 weeks now (retail layoff). This morning I checked my CONNECT account and noticed the adjudication message that was on my claim status page has completely disappeared! No new messages or status updates though. Has anyone experienced this before? How long after the adjudication status disappeared did your payments actually hit your account? I'm down to my last $250 and getting really anxious since rent is due next week. Should I be doing something proactive or just wait it out?

same thing happened 2 me last month!!! took exactly 3 days after that message disappeared for money to show up on my way2go card. hang in there!

That's such a relief to hear! I've been checking my account obsessively every few hours. Did you get all the back weeks at once or just the current week?

This is actually a good sign! When the adjudication message disappears, it typically means a determination has been made. In my experience (and I've unfortunately had to file twice in the past three years), payments usually process within 2-5 business days after the adjudication status clears. The system updates overnight between 8pm-8am, so I'd recommend checking tomorrow morning. You should see a payment status change to "processed" before it hits your account. Make sure you've selected a payment method in your CONNECT profile (direct deposit or Way2Go card). If you haven't done that yet, it could delay things further.

Thank you for this detailed explanation! I did set up direct deposit when I first applied. I'll keep checking in the mornings. Really hoping it comes through before rent is due.

Don't get your hopes up too fast. Mine disappeared for a whole week then came back saying I needed to provide more information for the fact finding questionnaire!!! The DEO system is so glitchy and frustrating. I'd still try calling them just to make sure everything is actually processed and not just a system error.

0 coins

Oh no, that's concerning! I submitted all my fact finding questionnaires weeks ago. Did you eventually get approved after providing more info?

Yeah but it took another 3 weeks after that. The whole process took almost 12 weeks for me total. Complete nightmare. Hope yours goes faster!

When your adjudication message disappears, it usually means your claim has been processed, but there's still a final review that happens. In most cases, payments are released within 2-5 business days after the adjudication message disappears. However, there are several factors that can affect this timeline: 1. If your claim was approved without issues, you'll usually see payments within 48-72 hours 2. If there were complications with your claim, there might be additional review steps 3. Bank holidays and weekends can delay the actual deposit 4. The first payment often takes the longest, with subsequent weeks processing faster You should see a payment status update in CONNECT before it hits your bank account. Look for "processed" status which means it's been approved and sent to your payment method.

This is super helpful information, thank you! When you say "processed" status, is that under the "Weekly Benefit Details" section? I've been looking at the main claim status page.

Yes, check under "Weekly Benefit Details" - you'll see status changes there first. The main claim status page updates less frequently. Also look for the "Payment History" section which will show when payments have been issued.

I was in a similar situation back in January after being laid off from healthcare admin. The adjudication message disappeared on a Tuesday, and by Friday morning all my backpay (almost $4,200) hit my account at once. If you're really struggling with rent coming due, you might want to try reaching out to DEO directly to check the status rather than just waiting. I tried calling for weeks with no luck - constant busy signals and disconnects. Then I found this service called Claimyr that got me through to an actual DEO agent in about 20 minutes. It costs money but was worth it for peace of mind. You can see how it works at claimyr.com or check their demo video: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj The agent I spoke with was able to confirm my payments were actually being processed and gave me the exact date they would arrive. Saved me a lot of anxiety.

Thanks for the suggestion! I've been calling constantly and either get a busy signal or that automated message saying call volume is too high. I might try that service if I don't see any updates by tomorrow.

Does that service actually work? Seems sketchy to pay money just to talk to DEO when it should be free...

It worked for me. I was skeptical too, but after trying for weeks to get through on my own, I was desperate. The DEO phone system is completely broken - they just don't have enough staff for the call volume. I figured the cost was worth it to potentially speed up thousands in backpay.

make sure ur checking ur email too!! sometimes they send messages there that dont show up in connect!!

Good point! Just checked my spam folder too and nothing there. I'll keep an eye on email as well.

My brother works for DEO (not supposed to tell anyone lol) and he says that the adjudication message disappearing means they've made a decision but doesn't guarantee approval. Could still go either way. But usually if it's a denial they send that message quick, so no news might be good news???

Wait, your brother works for DEO? Can you ask him why they make it so impossible to reach anyone there? I spent HOURS trying to get through!

0 coins

He says they're super understaffed and the phone system is ancient. Like from the 90s. He gets in trouble if his calls go too long so they're basically forced to rush people off the phone. System is broken from top to bottom.

Just wanted to add - make sure you continue claiming your weeks even while waiting for the adjudication to complete. Some people stop claiming because they think they need to wait for the adjudication to resolve first, but you should keep claiming each eligible week. You won't receive payment until adjudication is complete, but at least all your weeks will be in the system ready to be paid once it's resolved.

0 coins

Yes, I've been diligently claiming each week! I set calendar reminders so I don't forget my window. Just claimed this morning actually.

CALL THEM!!! Seriously, don't just wait. My adjudication message disappeared and NOTHING happened for 3 weeks until I finally got through to someone who told me there was a "system flag" on my account that needed manual clearing. Got paid 2 days after they fixed it. The squeaky wheel gets the grease with DEO.

How did you actually get through? I've tried calling literally 50+ times and never reached a human being.

Honestly? Pure luck and persistence. I called right when they opened at 7:30am and kept redialing for about 45 minutes until I finally got in the queue instead of a busy signal. Then waited on hold for another hour. It's ridiculous they make it so hard.

I went through the exact same thing in February! The adjudication message disappeared on a Wednesday and I was checking my account obsessively every few hours just like you. My payments actually came through that Friday morning - all 6 weeks of backpay hit at once which was such a relief. The waiting is absolutely brutal especially when you're down to your last few dollars. One thing that helped me was checking the "Payment History" section in CONNECT rather than just the main status page - it updates faster and shows when payments are actually being processed. Since rent is due next week, you might want to reach out to your landlord and explain the situation. Many are understanding about unemployment delays right now. Also check if your county has any emergency rental assistance programs - some can help bridge the gap while you wait for DEO to get their act together. Hang in there, you're so close!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! It's really reassuring to hear from someone who went through the exact same thing. I'll definitely start checking the Payment History section - I didn't even know that existed. And great suggestion about reaching out to my landlord. I've been so stressed about it but you're right that many people understand these delays aren't our fault. Really hoping I see something by Friday like you did!

I'm going through something similar right now! My adjudication status disappeared 4 days ago and I've been anxiously waiting. Reading through these responses is giving me hope that payments might come through soon. @Mateo Hernandez - have you tried checking early in the morning around 8am? That's when the system usually updates overnight. Also, if you're really worried about rent, you might want to call 211 - they can connect you with local rental assistance programs that help people in exactly this situation while waiting for unemployment. The stress is real but it sounds like you're almost there!

0 coins

Thanks for the tip about checking at 8am! I've been checking randomly throughout the day but I'll definitely set an alarm for early morning to see if there are any overnight updates. And 211 is a great resource - I actually used them when I first got laid off to find out about other assistance programs. Really hoping we both see some movement soon! This whole process is so stressful when you're running low on funds. Keeping my fingers crossed that the disappearing adjudication message means good news is coming.

I just went through this exact situation last month! My adjudication status disappeared on a Thursday and I was in full panic mode because I had like $180 left. The good news is that my payments came through the following Tuesday morning - all 5 weeks of backpay at once. One thing I learned is to check the "Monetary Determination" section in your CONNECT account too. Sometimes that updates before other sections and gives you a better idea if everything was approved. Also, if you're really tight on money for rent, try calling your local 211 for emergency assistance programs. Some can provide one-time rental help while you're waiting for DEO to process everything. The waiting is absolute torture but from what I've seen here and experienced myself, the adjudication message disappearing is usually a really good sign. Most people seem to get their money within 2-5 business days after that happens. Hang in there!

This is exactly what I needed to hear! Thank you for sharing your timeline - Tuesday morning sounds very reasonable since mine disappeared this morning (Thursday). I'll definitely check the "Monetary Determination" section, I haven't looked at that part yet. And yes, I'll call 211 if I don't see movement by Monday. It's so helpful to hear from people who've actually been through this exact situation. The waiting really is torture when you're down to your last dollars, but all these responses are giving me hope that I'm almost through it. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience!

I'm in a very similar situation right now! My adjudication status disappeared yesterday morning and I've been refreshing my account every couple hours since then. It's so nerve-wracking when you're down to your last bit of money. Reading through everyone's experiences here is really helpful - sounds like most people see payments within 2-5 days after the adjudication message disappears. I'm going to start checking the "Payment History" and "Monetary Determination" sections that people mentioned instead of just staring at the main status page. @Mateo Hernandez - I really hope you see your payments come through before rent is due! The stress of being in limbo while bills pile up is just awful. Keep us posted on what happens - your situation gives me hope that mine will resolve soon too. We're both so close to getting through this nightmare!

I'm right there with you @Jamal Anderson! It's so stressful being in this waiting period, especially when you're watching your bank account dwindle. I've found this thread incredibly helpful too - it's reassuring to know that so many people have been through this exact situation and came out the other side. I'm definitely going to start checking those different sections people mentioned instead of just obsessing over the main status page. Fingers crossed we both see some good news in the next few days! The community support here has been amazing during such an anxious time.

I've been following this thread closely because I'm in week 4 of adjudication myself. What's really encouraging is seeing how many people have had their adjudication status disappear and then received payments within just a few days afterward. It seems like that's actually the final step before approval in most cases. For everyone waiting - one thing that helped me manage the anxiety was setting specific times to check my account (like 8am and 6pm) instead of refreshing constantly throughout the day. The obsessive checking was driving me crazy and the system really only updates overnight anyway. Also want to echo what others said about continuing to claim your weeks even during adjudication. I almost stopped claiming because I thought I had to wait, but thankfully someone on here corrected me before I missed any weeks. @Mateo Hernandez - really hoping you see that money hit your account soon! The fact that your status disappeared is definitely promising based on everyone's experiences here.

@Fiona Gallagher That s'such good advice about setting specific check times! I ve'definitely been guilty of refreshing obsessively every hour which just makes the anxiety worse. You re'absolutely right that the system only updates overnight anyway, so I m'just torturing myself for no reason. I m'going to try your approach of checking at 8am and 6pm only. It s'really comforting to see how supportive everyone is being in this thread - makes this whole stressful process feel a bit less isolating when you know others are going through the exact same thing!

I'm in almost the exact same boat! My adjudication status disappeared 2 days ago after being stuck for 6 weeks following a restaurant closure. I've been checking obsessively too - the anxiety is killing me when you're down to your last few dollars. Reading everyone's experiences here is giving me so much hope though! It sounds like most people are seeing payments within 2-5 days after that adjudication message disappears. I'm going to take @Fiona Gallagher's advice and stop checking constantly - maybe just morning and evening. @Mateo Hernandez - I really hope your payments come through before rent is due! The timing stress is the worst part. Have you tried looking at the "Payment History" section that people mentioned? I just found it in my account and it shows more detailed status info than the main page. Fingers crossed we're both almost through this nightmare! The community support in this thread has been amazing.

@Romeo Quest I m'so glad this thread is helping you too! It s'amazing how much better it feels knowing we re'not alone in this mess. I just checked the Payment History section you mentioned and wow, there s'so much more detail there than the main status page. Still showing pending "for" all my weeks but at least I can see they re'all in the system. Really hoping we both see some movement in the next day or two - this whole process has been such an emotional rollercoaster! Thanks for sharing your timeline, it gives me hope that 6-7 weeks might actually be the end point for most people.

I went through this exact same situation about 3 months ago! My adjudication status disappeared on a Monday morning and I was in complete panic mode because I had rent due that Friday. The good news is that my payments showed up Wednesday evening - got all 8 weeks of backpay deposited at once which was such a huge relief. A few tips that helped me during those final few days of waiting: - Check the "Weekly Benefit Details" section around 8am each day - that's when overnight processing updates usually appear - Look for any change in payment status from "pending" to "processed" - Don't panic if it takes the full 5 business days, the system can be slow even after adjudication clears Since you're cutting it close with rent, definitely reach out to your landlord ASAP to explain the situation. Most are understanding about unemployment delays right now. Also call 211 for emergency rental assistance - many counties have programs specifically for people waiting on delayed unemployment benefits. The disappearing adjudication message is definitely a good sign based on what I've seen. You're so close to the finish line! Keep claiming your weekly benefits and try not to refresh the account constantly (easier said than done, I know). Hang in there!
