If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Just to clarify, to qualify for the current FSC program you need: 1. Exhausted regular state benefits 2. Have earned at least 40x your weekly benefit amount in your base period 3. Be in an approved high unemployment county (DEO publishes the list monthly) 4. Have completed at least 5 verifiable work searches per week If you don't meet ALL of these requirements, you'll only receive the state benefit amount. And yes, the maximum state benefit was increased to $375 in the last Florida legislative session.

Thanks for spelling it all out. I've only filed for one week so far, so I definitely haven't exhausted my regular benefits. That explains why I'm not seeing FSC on my account. At least the state benefit is higher now than it used to be. I'll keep doing my 5 work searches and hopefully find something full-time soon.

Whatever you do, make ABSOLUTELY SURE you're reporting any part-time income correctly. If you earned less than $375 but still had some income, you need to report it for each week. I missed reporting $120 from a side gig and ended up with an overpayment notice and had to appeal. NIGHTMARE. The DEO is super strict about this now.

Oh gosh, thanks for the warning! I'm definitely reporting everything. I'm working part-time retail right now but my hours got cut way back. I report every penny I make each week, even tips.

i had this exact problem in january!! it showed ineligible because there was an issue with my work search requirements from 2 weeks ago that triggered a review. check if you have any "fact findings" or pending issues in your account. mine got fixed after i submitted the missing work search info.

Just checked and I don't see any fact findings or pending issues listed. I've been super careful about submitting all 5 work searches each week. Thanks for the suggestion though!

UPDATE: Just wanted to check if you were able to resolve this? Did you end up getting through to someone at DEO or find the extension application?

0 coins

I ended up using that Claimyr service someone mentioned above to get through to DEO. The agent told me there was a system flag on my account because my previous employer contested my original claim (which was already resolved months ago!). She removed the flag and manually processed my extension application. My status is back to active now with a new benefit balance! What a relief. The agent also mentioned there's a known glitch in CONNECT where old resolved issues can suddenly reappear when transitioning to extended benefits. Apparently it's happening to a lot of people.

My husband had this happen and we ended up emailing our state representative! They have staff that deal with DEO issues and got it fixed in like a week after months of nothing happening. Google your FL state rep and find their constituent services email.

This! When my claim was stuck for 9 weeks, contacting my state representative was what finally got it moving. I emailed on a Tuesday, they contacted DEO on Wednesday, and by Friday all my held payments were released. It's ridiculous that this is what it takes, but it works.

Update: I tried the Claimyr service this morning and actually got through to a DEO agent! She found the problem right away - there was a "wage verification hold" because my employer reported different quarterly wages than what I entered on my application. She released the hold and said I should see my payments in 3-5 business days. Will update again when/if the money arrives. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!

That's great news! Glad it worked out for you. The same thing happened to me - it was a simple issue that could've been fixed in minutes, but impossible to get through without help.

TYPICAL DEO nonsense. Make us wait months for a 5 minute fix. At least you're getting it resolved!

This happened to me last month too I claimed without putting work searches and my payment got delayed for 3 weeks!!! When I finally got through to someone they said I had to do the work searches retroactively and send proof. Such a hassle for no reason!!!!

One more thing to note - if you're on Extended Benefits or in a DEO-approved training program, different rules might apply. Also, some claimants may qualify for exemptions from work search requirements under specific circumstances (like if you have a verifiable job return date within 8 weeks). If you think you might qualify for an exemption, you should document your situation thoroughly and be prepared to explain during any potential review of your claim. The safest approach is to complete and record your work searches anyway unless you've received explicit confirmation of a waiver from DEO.

0 coins

I don't think I qualify for any exemptions. I'm on regular unemployment after being laid off from my accounting job. I'll definitely start documenting everything going forward. Going to try calling DEO tomorrow about the weeks I already claimed without work search info. Fingers crossed I can get through to someone!

Anyone else notice that CONNECT is doing maintenance AGAIN this weekend? Maybe that's related to all these weird payment splits. I swear that system is held together with duct tape and prayers.

Yes, they're doing database maintenance from Friday 8pm to Monday 5am. It was announced in the System Availability section. This is actually the third weekend in a row they've had to do these upgrades. The payment processing issues are related to their database migration project that started last month.

UPDATE: My $300 just hit my account this morning! It's showing in my bank but still doesn't appear processed in CONNECT. So weird, but at least I got it. Seems like they really are processing them separately now.

0 coins

Glad to hear it worked out! The CONNECT system often lags behind actual payments by 1-2 days. They're supposed to fix this display issue with the upcoming system upgrades, but we'll see if that actually happens. Florida's unemployment system has needed a complete overhaul for years.

lol good luck. this is FLORIDA unemployment. they WANT us to fail. I ended up having to take a crappy job for half my normal pay just to survive while waiting. system is broken ON PURPOSE.

While I understand your frustration, this isn't particularly helpful advice for someone in an urgent situation. The system has issues but there are still effective ways to navigate it, as others have mentioned.

Just wanted to update you all. I tried calling this morning using the 7:29am trick AND I tried the Claimyr service since I was desperate. Got through with Claimyr in about 20 mins and asked specifically for someone in adjudication regarding an employer response issue as suggested here. They transferred me to an adjudicator who saw that my employer DID respond on April 22 but it never got matched to my file properly. She fixed it on the spot and said my payments should release within 24-48 hours! THANK YOU all for the help!! Will update if the money actually hits my account.

That's fantastic news! This is a perfect example of why reaching the right department is so crucial. The regular agents often can see the problem but don't have permission to fix it. Glad you got it resolved!

DEO ID.me verification impossible with disconnected phone - need urgent workaround

I'm completely stuck with my DEO account because my phone got shut off due to non-payment (lost my job 3 weeks ago), and now I can't complete the ID.me verification process! The system keeps trying to send me text verification codes but obviously I can't receive them. I've tried using the 'no phone access' option but it still wants me to upload photos that get sent to my phone number? Has anyone dealt with this catch-22 situation? My claim is pending and I desperately need to get this verified to access my benefits. Is there any workaround when you literally have no working phone for the ID.me process?

Alexis Renard

•

For anyone else finding this thread with the same problem: CALL YOUR STATE REPRESENTATIVE!!! They can push your verification through the system! I was stuck for WEEKS before I did this and then magically my account was verified within 48 hours after my rep's office called DEO!!!

This is actually excellent advice. Your state representative's office often has direct channels to DEO that can bypass some of the standard verification hurdles. Just search "Florida state representative lookup" and enter your address to find your representative's contact information.

One important detail about the ID.me video verification option: make sure you're initiating this process directly through the link in your CONNECT portal. If you just go to ID.me separately, the verification won't automatically link to your DEO account even if you complete it successfully. I made this mistake and had to do the whole process twice.

Just to add some additional information: if you're receiving $600 weekly, that means your WBA (Weekly Benefit Amount) is on the higher end of Florida's scale. The maximum is $615 in 2025. If you're having 10% withheld for federal taxes, that would be $60, leaving you with $540. This is normal and actually might save you from a surprise tax bill later. But if you prefer to manage your tax obligations separately, changing the withholding setting as I mentioned earlier is perfectly fine. Just make sure you're setting aside around 10-15% of your benefits for taxes.

This is really helpful context, thank you! Yes, I was working as a senior project manager before the layoff, so my income qualified me for close to the maximum. I didn't realize Florida's max was $615 now - that explains why I wasn't getting the exact maximum. I'll definitely set aside money for taxes since I switched off the withholding.

did u figure it out? was it the tax thing?

Yes! It was definitely the tax withholding. I went into my account settings and unchecked that option. Thanks everyone for the help! This forum has been way more useful than trying to contact DEO directly.

my nieghbor said theres a new bill for extra $$ but it hasnt passed yet. dont get hopes up tho florida never does anything to help us. $275 is a joke my car payment is more than that lol

To clarify, there is no pending legislation in Florida that would increase unemployment benefits or add supplemental payments at this time. While federal proposals occasionally appear, nothing is currently moving forward that would affect Florida claimants in the near future. The $275 maximum weekly benefit has remained unchanged for over 20 years, despite inflation.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I'm really disappointed to learn there's no extra $300. My neighbor must have been talking about something else or remembering from the pandemic. I've been playing around with my CONNECT account and found where to have taxes withheld (thanks for that tip!). I've also been keeping detailed records of my work searches - applying to at least 7 jobs per week even though only 5 are required. I'm going to try to get through to DEO to ask about training opportunities that might extend my benefits. Thanks again for all the helpful info!

has anyone else noticed the connect website is down AGAIN today?????? trying to claim my weeks and can't even login!! this is the 3rd time this month!!!!

0 coins

This is off-topic from the original question about backpay, but yes, CONNECT is experiencing maintenance issues today. They usually post planned outages on the DEO Twitter account, but sometimes they have unplanned downtime too. Try again later tonight or early tomorrow morning when traffic is lower.

I'm following this thread closely because I'm in a similar situation! Been fighting with DEO for WEEKS about my claim, and suddenly got a deposit that seems like it might be backpay but I'm terrified to spend it. The anxiety of dealing with Florida unemployment is honestly worse than being unemployed itself sometimes. 😭 Has anyone who got backpay received any kind of official notice or letter from DEO explaining what the payment was for? I haven't gotten anything in my CONNECT inbox...

0 coins

Omar Farouk

•

You typically won't receive a special notice about backpay - it's just considered regular payment for weeks that were previously on hold. However, if you look in your CONNECT inbox, you should see determination notices for any issues that were resolved, which would have triggered the release of those payments. These determination letters are your official documentation that the weeks were approved for payment.
