CDLE denied my claim for lack of wages despite having W2 proof - How to reach a human?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. My unemployment claim got denied because they said I didn't have enough wages, but I've got my W2 right here showing I made plenty. Anyone else run into this? I'm trying to figure out how to talk to an actual person about why I was denied. The website isn't giving me any useful info. Any advice?

Ugh, classic CDLE move. They're always messing up something. Have you tried faxing your W2 to them? Sometimes that works better than trying to upload it online.

•Faxing? What year is it, 1995? 😂 But seriously, thanks for the tip. I'll give it a shot if I can find a fax machine somewhere.

•No joke, faxing actually works better sometimes. The online system is a joke. Good luck OP!

I had the exact same issue last month. Turns out they were looking at my wages from the wrong quarter. Keep pushing and don't give up! Here's what I did: 1. Called every single day (be prepared to wait on hold for hours) 2. Sent emails to every address I could find 3. Reached out to my state representative 4. Filed an appeal online Eventually, someone got back to me and fixed the issue. It took about 3 weeks of constant effort, but I finally got my benefits.

•Wow, thanks for the detailed response! 3 weeks sounds rough, but at least there's hope. I'll start working through your list. Did you have any luck with a specific email address?

•The one that finally worked for me was unemployment@state.gov. But honestly, I think it was the combination of everything that got their attention.

•This is why the system is so messed up. We shouldn't have to jump through all these hoops just to get what we're entitled to. 🤬

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/W4S1W6V2hOQ

•Sounds sketchy. Has anyone else tried this?

•20 bucks to talk to someone? That's highway robbery!

•I know it sounds weird, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imho.

•Can confirm, I used it too. Got through in like 30 minutes when I'd been trying for weeks.

This happened to my cousin. Turns out he had some unreported cash work that messed up his claim. Make sure all your income is accounted for!

•Thanks, but that's definitely not the issue here. All my work was on the books and reported properly.

The unemployment system is a joke. They deny first, ask questions later. Keep fighting!

Have you checked your base period? Sometimes they use a weird calculation that doesn't include your most recent work. Here's how to calculate it: 1. Find the last completed quarter before you filed 2. Count back four more quarters 3. That's your base period Make sure your W2 falls within that time frame. If not, you might need to wait and reapply.

•Oh man, I didn't even think about that. I'll double check the dates. Thanks for the tip!
