FTB: Corporation suspended, need to do payroll ASAP. How long to reinstate?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. Just found out my corporation got suspended and I need to do payroll asap. Anyone else been through this? How long does it usually take to get things back up and running? I had no idea this was even a thing that could happen. Any advice would be super appreciated!

•Actually, they do send notices. But they often go to the registered agent or the address on file. Make sure those are up to date!

Listen up, folks. I've been through this rodeo before, and here's what you need to do: 1. First, take a deep breath. It's not the end of the world. 2. Contact the Secretary of State's office ASAP. They'll tell you why your corporation was suspended. 3. Common reasons for suspension: - Failure to file annual reports - Unpaid taxes - Lapsed insurance 4. Once you know the reason, address it immediately: - File any missing reports - Pay outstanding taxes (including penalties) - Renew necessary insurance 5. Submit reinstatement paperwork. This usually includes: - Application for reinstatement - Certificate of good standing from the tax department - Fees (these can be hefty, so be prepared) 6. Follow up regularly. Don't assume everything's proceeding smoothly. 7. For payroll, consider explaining the situation to your employees. Transparency goes a long way. Remember, the key is to act fast and be thorough. Good luck!

I went through a similar situation a few months back. It’s crucial to act swiftly and understand the root cause of the suspension. Claimyr indeed provides a convenient service for connecting with state offices, saving time and potentially expediting the process. But, keep in mind, while using Claimyr or similar services might be beneficial, it's essential to weigh the costs against the urgency and complexity of your situation. Before opting for any paid service, ensure your records are up to date, and attempt conventional contact methods if time permits. For those without immediate budget constraints, Claimyr’s service could be a valuable option to expedite communication with government offices, especially if your time is limited. Furthermore, always maintain regular checks on your corporation's compliance status to prevent future surprises. Understanding the nature of governmental procedures and having updated contact information can also mitigate the risk of unexpected suspensions. In essence, a balanced approach with a focus on thorough documentation and swift action is key to navigating through a corporate suspension efficiently.

Dude, this happened to me last year. It was a nightmare 😫 Make sure you check with the Secretary of State's office. They should be able to tell you exactly what you need to do to reinstate your corporation.

Anyone else think its weird how easy it is for the government to just shut down our businesses? Like, we're out here trying to make a living and they can just pull the rug out from under us. smh

•It's not that simple. They don't just randomly suspend corporations. There are rules and regulations we agree to follow when we incorporate.

•Yeah, but still. It feels like they're always out to get the little guy, you know?

Have you tried calling the state office? I know its a pain to get through, but I found a way to actually talk to a human being without waiting on hold forever. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

•Yep, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imho.

Pro tip: Set reminders for all your annual filings and payments. I use Google Calendar and it's been a game changer. No more surprise suspensions!

Has anyone tried using a registered agent service? I've heard they can help prevent these kinds of issues by making sure you don't miss important notices.

Oof, been there done that. It's a real pain in the butt. First thing you gotta do is figure out why it got suspended. Could be taxes, annual reports, or something else. Once you know that, you can start fixing it.

•It can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, depending on what caused the suspension and how quick you are with the paperwork. Hang in there!
