SDI check 2+ weeks late - anyone else experiencing delays?
Has anyone else been waiting forever for their state disability check? It's been over 2 weeks since I was supposed to get paid and still nothing. This is getting ridiculous. I've got bills to pay and can't afford to wait much longer. Anyone know what's going on or how to speed things up?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. It's been almost 3 weeks for me now. I've tried calling but can never get through to a real person. This is so frustrating!

•3 weeks?! That's insane. Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things along.

•Local rep is hit or miss tbh. I tried that and got nowhere. 🤷♂️

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to your phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤡

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•Can you give more details about how it works? Do they guarantee you'll get through?

•Sure! You just go to their website, choose the department you need to call, pay, and they start calling right away. They text you when they get someone on the line. No guarantee, but it worked for me first try.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with SDI for months: 1. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 2. Keep all your paperwork organized and ready. 3. If you can't get through on the phone, try faxing your documents. 4. Double-check that your doctor submitted everything correctly. 5. Consider reaching out to your state representative for help. 6. Join Facebook groups for SDI claimants - lots of good info there. 7. If all else fails, file a complaint with the state labor board. Hope this helps someone! Hang in there, everyone. 💪

I'm convinced they do this on purpose to save money. Keep us waiting and hope we give up. It's criminal.

•Idk about that. I think they're just understaffed and overwhelmed. Still sucks tho

Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. That's how I finally got through after weeks of trying!

•Oh no, I'm so sorry you're going through this. Have you looked into local rent assistance programs? Some cities have emergency funds for situations like this.

Anyone else notice that the wait times seem to be getting worse? I swear it wasn't this bad a few months ago.

LPT: If you're having trouble getting your disability payments, try contacting your state senator or assembly member's office. They often have staff dedicated to helping constituents with state agency issues. It's literally their job to help you!

unpopular opinion: maybe we should privatize the disability insurance system. cant be worse than this mess 🤷♂️

•Are you kidding? Private companies would find every excuse not to pay out. At least the state system eventually pays.
