Money Network card delay after EDD payment issued - certified weeks payment confusion
I'm completely confused about my EDD payment situation. My UI claim was approved on 2/3/2025 and I've certified for 4 weeks so far. My UI Online account shows 'paid' status for 3 weeks (totaling $1875), but when I check payment history, it only shows one payment of $625 issued on 2/24/2025. Where are the other two payments that show as 'paid'? Also, it's been almost 10 days since that first payment was supposedly issued, but I still haven't received my Money Network debit card in the mail. How long should this take? I'm getting really anxious since rent is due next week and I was counting on having access to these funds. Is there some hidden status issue with my claim I'm not seeing? Anyone dealt with similar payment/card delays recently?

yep classic EDD! shows paid but money nowhere to be found lol. the money network card takes FOREVER to arrive, like 7-10 business days AFTER the first payment shows as issued. so if it was issued 2/24 you might not get it till end of this week or early next. but weird about only 1 payment showing up when 3 weeks are "paid"... maybe call them?

•Thanks for the timeline on the card. Do you know if there's any way to check the status of the card delivery or if the other payments will come on the same card once I get it?

There are a couple of different things going on here. First, regarding your Money Network card - it typically takes 7-10 business days from your first payment to arrive. You can call Money Network directly at 1-866-692-9374 to check on your card status without going through EDD. For the payment issue, this sounds like a reporting lag in the system. When weeks show as 'paid' but don't appear in payment history, it usually means the payment is being processed but hasn't been fully released to your account yet. This can happen when: 1. Your identity verification just cleared 2. There was a hold that was recently removed 3. The system is simply experiencing delays I'd recommend waiting 2-3 business days to see if the other payments appear in your payment history. If they don't, you'll need to contact EDD directly. The fastest way to get through to a representative is usually to call right when they open at 8:00 AM.

•lol "fastest way" still means waiting 3 hours on hold! EDD phones are a joke

I had THE EXACT same problem in January!!!! My online account showed 4 weeks as PAID but only 2 payments actually showed up in the payment history. Stressed me out for weeks because I needed that $$ for my car payment. Called EDD like 50 times and could never get through. Finally the other payments just randomly showed up almost 3 weeks later!!! They never explained why. The system is broken and they don't care about us at all.

•That's so frustrating! Did you eventually get all your payments? I'm worried they'll just disappear from the system or something. Did calling ever actually help or did they just randomly appear?

•They eventually all showed up but honestly I never got through to anyone on the phone so I can't tell you if that would've helped. The whole system is designed to make us give up I swear. Hope yours come through faster than mine did!!!

What you're experiencing is actually pretty common with EDD's payment processing system. Here's what's likely happening: 1. Your payments are batched differently in the EDD system. The 'paid' status in your claim status is updated immediately when a payment is approved, but the actual payment issuance can happen in different batches. 2. For your Money Network card: First-time cards typically take 7-10 business days after the FIRST payment is issued. You can't expedite this initial card, unfortunately. Once you receive it, additional payments are usually loaded within 24-48 hours of showing as 'issued' in your payment history. 3. The missing payments in your payment history: There's likely a processing delay. Try checking your claim history (different from payment history) - it may show additional details. Also check your UI Online inbox for any notices about pending eligibility issues. If the other payments don't appear in your payment history within 3 business days, you definitely need to speak with an EDD representative. The technical issues you mentioned might be related to this payment discrepancy.

•Thanks for the detailed explanation. I checked my claim history and all weeks show as paid with no pending issues. I'll wait a few more days before panicking I guess. Is there any way to see if there are technical issues with my account specifically? The online system doesn't show anything obvious.

hav you tried calling the UI people? they will NEVER solve this unless you talk to someone directly. they owed me almost $3000 last year and i had to call like 75 times before i could even talk to a human!!!!

•I've tried calling a few times but keep getting the "we're experiencing higher than normal call volume" message and then it hangs up. Is there a special trick to actually getting through to a person?

I've been where you are and found a service called Claimyr that really helped me get through to EDD when I had a similar payment issue. It's a call-back service that gets you connected to an EDD representative without waiting on hold forever. I was skeptical at first but it worked for me when I couldn't get through on my own after trying for days. You can see how it works here: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km and their website is claimyr.com. The agent I spoke with was able to explain that my other payments were stuck in a processing queue and got them released within 24 hours.

•That sounds really helpful. I've wasted so much time trying to call already. I'll check out the video - was it complicated to use? Did they need a lot of personal information?

•It was pretty straightforward to use - and no, they just needed basic info to connect you to EDD. The best part was actually getting through to someone who could see what was happening with my claim. The EDD rep explained exactly why my payments were held up and fixed it on the spot.

I went through something similar in January. Here's what I learned through the process: 1. The UI Online system has two separate parts - the certification/claim status side and the payment processing side. Sometimes they don't sync correctly, which is probably why you see three weeks paid but only one payment issued. 2. For the Money Network card, mine took exactly 9 business days to arrive after my first payment was issued. You can actually call Money Network directly (separate from EDD) to check if your card has been mailed and when. 3. The other payments that show as "paid" but don't show in payment history are probably stuck in processing. This is fairly common and usually resolves itself within 3-5 business days. If you're worried about rent, you might want to call EDD directly to check on the status of those other payments. In my experience, once you actually reach a representative, they can usually see exactly what's happening and often fix it immediately. Hang in there - the system is frustrating but your money should be coming soon!

•Thank you, this makes me feel a bit better. I'll try calling Money Network directly to at least check on the card status. I appreciate the detailed explanation!

Pro tip: when you finally get that Money Network card IMMEDIATELY set up direct deposit to your bank account!!! Save yourself the headache for future payments. I learned this the hard way when my card got lost in the mail after they issued a replacement and I had to wait ANOTHER 10 days. Direct deposit hits your account in like 1-2 days after payment is issued instead.

•This is excellent advice. Direct deposit is much more reliable than waiting for funds to load on the card. Plus, you don't have to worry about ATM fees or card replacement issues.

•Thanks for the tip! I didn't realize I could set up direct deposit. Will definitely do this as soon as I get the card.

I wanted to add something about your second question - regarding the technical issues with certification. While using your Assemblyperson's office is definitely effective (and great advice!), for future reference, if you experience technical issues with certification, you can also: 1. Request a backdate for any weeks affected by technical issues by submitting the request through your UI Online account 2. Use the "Contact Us" form in UI Online to specifically report technical issues - mark it urgent and they usually respond within 48 hours 3. For paper certifications, there's a specific fax number (1-866-215-9159) that processes them faster than regular mail I'd still recommend keeping an eye on your UI Online account daily for the next few days. The "paid" weeks that aren't showing in payment history should eventually appear there. If they don't by the end of the week, then you'll need to contact EDD directly to investigate.

•This is really helpful information about the technical issues. I wish I'd known about the Contact Us form earlier - I spent so much time trying to call instead. I'll definitely keep checking my account daily.

I'm dealing with a similar payment delay issue right now! My card took 8 business days to arrive after my first payment was issued, so you should hopefully see yours soon. One thing that helped me track everything was screenshotting my UI Online account daily - that way I could see exactly when the payment history updated versus when my claim status changed. For the missing payments showing as "paid" but not in payment history, I've found that usually means they're in some kind of processing queue. In my case, two payments appeared in my payment history about 4 days after showing as "paid" in my claim status. Also, once you get your Money Network card, you can create an online account with them to track when funds are loaded - it's actually more reliable than waiting for EDD's payment history to update. Hang in there, the money should come through!

•Great idea about taking screenshots! I wish I'd thought of that from the beginning. It would definitely help me track what's happening versus just relying on memory. The Money Network online account tip is really useful too - I'll set that up as soon as the card arrives. Thanks for sharing your timeline, it gives me hope that the missing payments will show up in the next day or two!
