EDD UI Online shows weeks paid in History but nothing under Claims - payment coming?
I'm so confused about my UI payment status! I filed my initial claim on February 8th, 2025 and just checked my UI Online account. Under the 'Claims' section, it doesn't show any payments issued yet, which had me worried. But when I checked the 'History' tab, it suddenly shows that 3 weeks have been paid as of today! Does this mean my Money Network card is already on the way? I've never been on unemployment before and I'm trying to figure out if I should expect payment soon or if there's something else I need to do. The system is so confusing! Has anyone else experienced this discrepancy between the Claims and History sections?

This is actually completely normal and happens to many people! The UI Online system updates different sections at different times. When your History tab shows weeks as 'paid,' it means EDD has processed your payment, but it can take 1-3 business days for it to appear under Claims. If this is your first payment, your Money Network card will be mailed to you and typically arrives 7-10 business days after your first payment is processed. You can check the status of your card by calling the Money Network customer service number on the EDD website. Just be patient - the payment is definitely coming!

•Thank you so much! That's such a relief. Do I need to activate anything or will the card just arrive automatically? I'm worried about missing something important.

THE SAME THING happened to me last month and it drove me CRAZY!! The EDD system is so messed up and nothing makes sense. My history showed paid for like 5 days before the claims section updated. AND THEN I had to wait another week for the stupid card to show up. Meanwhile my landlord was breathing down my neck for rent!! They should really fix their system and make it clearer for everyone!!!!

•Ugh that sounds stressful! Did you have to call them or did it all eventually sort itself out?

I just went through this last month. Your Money Network card is definitely on the way if this is your first payment. Two important things to know: 1. The History tab updates first, and Claims updates about 24-48 hours later usually 2. For first-time claimants, they automatically mail the card when your first payment processes Make sure you activate it immediately when it arrives. The card will come in a plain white envelope that's easy to mistake for junk mail, so check your mail carefully. You'll need to create a PIN and verify your identity to access your funds. If you don't receive it within 10 business days, you should contact Money Network directly.

I had this EXACT issue when I filed in January. The EDD system is so frustrating to deal with. After my payment showed in History but not Claims, I called EDD about 27 times before I finally got through to a representative (after trying for 2 days straight). They told me everything was fine and the payment was processing, but I still worried until the card actually arrived. If you want to save yourself the headache of calling repeatedly, I discovered this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that actually helped me get through to an EDD agent quickly. They have a video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km. Saved me hours of frustration when I had questions about my second payment.

•Thanks for the tip! I'll check that out if I end up needing to call them. Did your card just show up in the mail or did they send you tracking info?

The status updates on EDD are super confusing for first-time filers! I went through this in March and was panicking just like you. Here's what's actually happening: - When History shows paid = EDD has authorized the funds transfer - When Claims shows paid = The money has been loaded onto your card Since this is your first payment, they're simultaneously setting up your Money Network card AND processing your payment. The card will arrive in a very plain envelope (seriously, it looks like junk mail) within 7-10 days. Once you get it, you'll need to activate it by calling the number on the sticker and setting up a PIN. If you don't receive the card within 10 business days, then you should definitely call EDD or Money Network directly.

•Thank you for breaking it down so clearly! I'll keep an eye out for that plain envelope. It's so helpful to hear from people who've been through this before.

Also just a heads up - you can switch to direct deposit once you get your card and access your Money Network account. I found that to be much more convenient than dealing with the card. The transfer to my bank account usually took 1-2 business days. Just another option to consider!

•That's good to know! I'd definitely prefer direct deposit if possible. Would make budgeting a lot easier.

Just a quick update since I see others have answered most of your questions - once you get your Money Network card, I recommend immediately setting up account alerts. There have been some fraud issues with these cards, so it's best to get text or email notifications for any transactions. Better safe than sorry!

I went through this exact same confusion when I first filed! It's totally normal and actually a good sign - when History shows "paid" it means EDD has processed and approved your payment. The Claims section just takes longer to update, usually 24-72 hours behind. Since this is your first payment, your Money Network card is definitely being mailed to you automatically. No action needed on your part! Just keep checking your mailbox over the next 7-10 business days. The card comes in a very plain white envelope that honestly looks like junk mail, so don't accidentally throw it away. Once it arrives, you'll call the number on it to activate and set up your PIN. Hang in there - the hardest part is over!
