PA UC payment showing 10/7 date - when will it actually hit my Money Network card?

I'm super confused about my unemployment payment schedule. My claim portal says my payment date is 10/7, but I still don't see anything on my Money Network card. Is there usually a delay between the posted date and when funds actually show up? This is my first time filing, and I'm getting worried because my rent is due soon and I was counting on this money. Does anyone know how long it typically takes after the payment date shows in the system?

The payment date shown on your portal is when the money was processed by PA UC, not when it hits your card. Typically funds appear on your Money Network card 1-2 business days AFTER the payment date shown. So if your payment date is 10/7, you should see it on your card by 10/9 at the latest (assuming 10/7 isn't a Friday, then it might be Monday). Don't panic if it's not there immediately.

Thank you!! That makes me feel better. Today is 10/8 so hopefully tomorrow then. Do holidays affect this timing? There's a holiday coming up next week for my next payment.

mine always hits AT LEAST 2 days after the date on the portal. sometimes 3. depends on ur bank too i think.

It's not really about your bank since the Money Network card is its own system. The transfer timing is pretty consistent - typically 1-2 business days after the payment date listed on your portal. Weekends and holidays can add extra time though.

10/7 was YESTERDAY, give it a minute lol. First time on unemployment?

Yes it's my first time filing :( Everything is so confusing and I'm just worried about making rent. Thanks for the reality check though lol

THE SYSTEM IS SO STUPID!!!! They tell you one date but don't actually give you the money until days later! I've been on UC three times and it ALWAYS takes at least 2 days after whatever date they claim. But they expect us to file our weekly claims EXACTLY on time or we get nothing. Double standard much?!?!?

ikr they should just be clear about when we actually get money instead of showing some random date that doesn't mean anything to us

Just to add some clarity: The date you see (10/7) is the date PA Unemployment processes your payment. From there, it takes 1-2 business days to transfer to your Money Network card. If you're really in a bind waiting for the deposit, I'd recommend using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to a PA UC rep who can verify exactly when your payment will post. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. I was stuck in a similar situation last month and they helped me confirm my payment status.

Thanks for the suggestion! If it doesn't show up tomorrow I might try that. The waiting is just killing me because my landlord isn't very understanding about late payments.

When I was collecting unemployment in 2023, I noticed my payments would always hit my Money Network card around 6am-8am, usually 2 business days after the payment date shown in the portal. So for a 10/7 payment date, I'd expect to see it deposited on the morning of 10/9. Hope that helps with your planning!

This is true for me too, always early morning deposit. And I've learned not to count on getting the money until 2 full business days after the date shown. Plan accordingly!

did u also do the job search requirements??? if u didnt they will hold ur payment

Yes I did all the job search stuff! I applied to 4 jobs and logged them in the system. The payment is approved and has a date, it just hasn't hit my card yet.

My roommate had his payment date on a Thursday once but didn't get it until Monday because they don't process on weekends. So if your date is Friday it might be Tuesday before you see it.

That's a good point. The payment date is when PA UC processes it, but then the actual transfer to the Money Network card follows normal banking timeframes, which excludes weekends and holidays. Always plan for these potential delays.

Hey Dmitri! I totally understand your anxiety - I was in the exact same boat when I first started collecting. The good news is that since your payment shows 10/7 and today is 10/8, you should definitely see it hit your Money Network card tomorrow (10/9) morning. I've been collecting for about 6 months now and it's always been exactly 2 business days after the date shown in the portal. The system is actually pretty reliable once you understand the timing - just wish they'd explain it better upfront! Hang in there, your money is coming.
