How to access remaining SDI balance? EDD help needed!

Hey everyone, I'm trying to get the remaining balance of my SDI benefits. Has anyone had experience with this? I'm not sure how to go about it or what the process is like. Any advice would be really appreciated!

I found a way to solve getting SDI remaining balance info, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bMr12ZtqaM

I've been through this before. You need to contact the EDD directly to request the remaining balance. It can be a bit of a hassle, but it's doable. Make sure you have your claim number and all relevant info ready when you call.

Ugh, calling EDD is the worst. I spent hours on hold last time I tried. 😫 Any tips on getting through?

I feel ya. It's a pain, but persistence is key. Try calling right when they open or during off-peak hours. Sometimes it helps.

Pro tip: use the online portal if you can. Sometimes you can request info there without calling.

I found a way to get someone on the phone without the endless wait. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to make a phone call? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦‍♂️

I know it sounds crazy, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Can you give more details about how it works? I'm intrigued but skeptical.

Sure! You just enter your phone number on their website, choose the EDD line you need to call, and pay. They call you back when they get an agent. Simple as that.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes the remaining balance info is right there in your claim details. Might save you a call altogether.

I'm in the same boat, OP. Been trying to figure this out for weeks. The whole system is a mess. Good luck to both of us! 🍀

Here's what you need to do: 1. Log into your SDI account online 2. Navigate to your claim details 3. Look for 'Claim Balance' or 'Remaining Benefits' 4. If you can't find it, use the message center to ask about your balance 5. If online doesn't work, call the SDI number: 1-800-480-3287 6. Have your claim number, SSN, and ID ready 7. Be prepared for a wait, call early in the morning if possible 8. Ask specifically about your remaining balance and how to access it 9. Take notes during the call 10. If they can't help, ask to speak to a supervisor Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up!

Has anyone tried faxing in a request? I heard from a friend that sometimes old school methods work better with these government agencies.

Faxing? What year is it, 1995? 😂

Hey, don't knock it till you've tried it! Sometimes the old ways are the best ways 🤷‍♀️

I just went through this process last month! The key is to check your SDI Online account first - log in and look under "Claim Information" or "Benefit Details." If you can't find the balance there, try sending a secure message through the portal asking for your remaining balance breakdown. This saved me from having to call. If you absolutely have to call, the number is 1-800-480-3287, but definitely try the online route first. Also keep in mind that SDI benefits have a maximum benefit period, so make sure you're still within your benefit year. Hope this helps!

This is super helpful! I didn't even know about the secure messaging option. That sounds way better than sitting on hold for hours. @e15b06f5c813 you should definitely try this approach first!
