I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Pro tip: If you get a rep who seems clueless, politely ask to speak with a tier 2 specialist. They usually have more authority to fix complex issues.

I'm in the same boat as OP, finally got through yesterday! Here's what worked for me: - Call right at 8:01 AM - If you get the "too many callers" message, hang up and redial immediately - Use the 2511 number and press 1, then 2, then 4 - Have all your info ready (SSN, claim date, last employer, etc.) - Be super nice to the rep, they deal with angry people all day Hope this helps someone else! Don't give up, you'll get through eventually!
