EDD disability payments suddenly stopped - anyone else? Need advice!
Hey everyone, I finally got through to EDD after two days of trying! It was such a relief. Has anyone else had their disability payments suddenly stop? I'm wondering if there's a common reason for this or if it's just my case. Any advice on what to do next would be really appreciated.

Congrats on getting through! It's like winning the lottery these days š I had my payments stop last month, turns out they needed some additional documentation. Did the agent give you any specific reason?

ā¢Thanks! No, they didn't give me a specific reason. Just said they'd 'look into it'. Feels like I'm back to square one š

ā¢Classic EDD move. They always say theyll 'look into it' but never actually do anything. You gotta keep calling and bugging them!

ā¢Ugh, you're probably right. Guess I'll be spending another few days on the phone šš

I found a way to get someone on the phone quickly. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

ā¢Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

ā¢Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Sorry to hear about your payments stopping. It's happening to a lot of people lately. Here's what I've learned: ⢠Often, it's due to missing paperwork or a flag on your account ⢠Sometimes it's a system glitch (yay EDD š) ⢠In rare cases, they suspect fraud and freeze accounts Best steps: 1. Keep calling (I know, it sucks) 2. Check your online account for any messages or requests 3. Send a message through the online portal 4. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member's office Hang in there!

ā¢Contacting your assembly member is lowkey the best advice here. They can often cut through the red tape faster than we can.

Have you checked if your claim period expired? Sometimes payments stop because you need to file a new claim. It's not always clear when this happens.

ā¢I didn't even think of that! I'll definitely look into it. Thanks for the tip!

ā¢3 weeks?! That's insane. Have you tried reaching out to your local representatives? Sometimes they can help speed things up.
