EDD questionnaire submitted late, now benefits overlap issue. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my disability benefits. I had a questionnaire that I needed to fill out for the EDD, but I think I submitted it too late. Now there's some kind of overlap issue between my unemployment and disability benefits. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to fix it or who to contact?

Ugh, the EDD is such a nightmare to deal with. I had a similar issue last year. Have you tried calling them? It took me like 50 attempts, but I finally got through to someone who could help.

•I've been trying to call for days but no luck. It's so frustrating! How long did it take you to resolve your issue?

•It took about 3 weeks from when I first got through to them. Hang in there, it's a process but it'll get sorted eventually!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

•How long did you have to wait once they called you back?

•It took about 2 hours for them to get through the queue, but I just went about my day and got the call when an agent was ready. Way better than being stuck on hold myself!

Listen up, because I've been through this rodeo before. Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Dates you submitted forms, times you called, names of reps you spoke to. 2. Write a clear, concise letter explaining the situation. Include your claim number and any relevant dates. 3. Fax AND mail this letter to the EDD. Yes, fax. They're stuck in the stone age. 4. If you can, visit an EDD office in person. Bring all your paperwork. 5. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 6. If all else fails, contact your state representative. They can sometimes cut through the red tape. Remember, you're dealing with a bureaucracy. Be patient, be polite, but be persistent. Good luck!

I'm in the same boat, OP. Been trying to sort out an overlap issue for weeks now. It's like they're speaking a different language half the time. 🤦♂️

•Going on 6 weeks now. Every time I think it's resolved, there's another 'issue' they find. I'm so done with this 😤

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling some of the other EDD numbers (like the employer line) and ask to be transferred. Worked for me!

Anyone else feel like the EDD is playing 4D chess while we're stuck with checkers? 🤔 It's like they intentionally make everything confusing af

Hey OP, quick question - when exactly did you submit the questionnaire? There might be a grace period depending on when it was due.

•I think it was about a week after the due date. I completely forgot about it with everything else going on. 😓

•Ah, gotcha. Yeah, that might cause some issues. But don't lose hope! Explain the situation when you get through to them. Sometimes they can be understanding if you're honest about what happened.
