EDD Overpayment Confusion: Disability vs. Sick Leave & Baby Bonding Claim Help Needed
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with EDD. I sent in my extended disability form through my doctor, but now I'm dealing with an overpayment issue. Apparently, you can't get paid sick leave and disability benefits at the same time? I had no clue about this. The weird part is, I got two different messages with different amounts - one online and one in a letter. I'm cool with paying it back, but the numbers don't add up. Anyone else run into this? Also, I'm trying to figure out when I can file for baby bonding. Any advice would be appreciated!

•Yeah, getting through to EDD is a whole other battle. Patience is key, but also try calling right when they open or just before closing time. Sometimes that works!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at EDD. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works.
