EDD payment received but no Money Network card delivered after 3 weeks
I'm freaking out a bit here. My claim was finally approved & I received my first EDD payment notification 3 weeks ago, but still no debit card in the mail! I called Money Network yesterday and their rep told me 'the card is automatically sent out the next business day after your first payment is processed.' That doesn't make any sense with my timeline, right? Has anyone else had to wait this long? I need to access these funds ASAP to cover rent. Should I request a replacement card or wait longer? The Money Network people weren't very helpful when I asked about tracking info.

•A MONTH?? Oh no, I can't wait that long. Did you end up calling them multiple times or did anything help speed it up?

The Money Network rep was feeding you the standard line, but it doesn't always work that way in reality. What they SHOULD have told you is that while cards are processed the next business day after first payment, actual delivery takes 7-10 business days under normal circumstances. After 3 weeks, you're definitely outside that window. I recommend: 1. Call Money Network again and specifically request a replacement card (they can expedite it for a fee) 2. Ask them to confirm your mailing address is correct in their system 3. Verify with EDD that the address they have matches what Money Network has Sometimes the cards get lost in the mail or sent to old addresses. Better to request a replacement now than wait longer.

•Thank you! I'll definitely call again tomorrow and ask specifically about expediting a replacement. Do you know if they charge a fee for that? I'm so broke right now...

•Yes, unfortunately they charge around $15 for expedited shipping, which they'll deduct from your balance once the card arrives. It's frustrating to pay for their mistake, but sometimes it's worth it if you really need the funds quickly.

This situation is EXACTLY why I tell everyone to set up direct deposit right away!!! The Money Network cards are nothing but trouble. Once you finally get your card, immediately log into UI Online and set up direct deposit to your bank account so you never have to deal with them again. The delay with these cards is ridiculous - I've heard so many horror stories about people waiting weeks or months.

•This might sound dumb but how do you set up direct deposit? Is it complicated? I just got approved last week and don't want to deal with card issues.

•6 WEEKS? That's insane! Did she do anything special to finally get it? I tried calling EDD but couldn't get through... just the dreaded 'we're experiencing high call volume' message over and over.

I ran into this exact problem last year. After three weeks of waiting, I was desperate to reach EDD to get it resolved. I finally used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to an actual EDD representative. They have this system that holds your place in line and calls you back when an agent is available. Once I finally spoke with an EDD rep, I found out there was a flag on my account that was preventing the card from being issued properly - something Money Network never mentioned despite my multiple calls to them. The EDD agent fixed it on the spot and my card arrived 5 days later. You can see how it works in their video demo: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km - it saved me so much frustration compared to the endless redial approach.

•I've been wondering about Claimyr. Did they actually get you through to a real person? I've been calling EDD for 2 weeks straight trying to resolve my identity verification issue and getting nowhere.

•Thank you for this suggestion! A flag on the account sounds exactly like what might be happening, especially since Money Network keeps giving me the runaround. I'll check out that service - at this point I just need to talk to someone who can actually help!

One more thing to check - verify if your payment is showing as "paid" in your UI Online account. Sometimes the system shows a payment is issued but it's actually stuck in pending status, in which case Money Network wouldn't have received the authorization to send a card yet. This happened to my brother-in-law and it took an eligibility interview to resolve it.

•It definitely shows as 'paid' in my UI Online account with the full amount. That's why I'm so confused about where my card is!

I HATE the Money Network cards so much. My first card never arrived after my 2023 claim but my second and third payments loaded onto the non-existent card! Had to pay $15 for replacement that took another 2 weeks. EDD payment system is stuck in the stone age I swear

Just to add to the chorus here - absolutely request a replacement card immediately AND set up direct deposit as soon as you get access. Money Network was a nightmare for me too. The worst part is that they claim they can't track these cards, which is complete nonsense in 2025. Every other financial company can track mail but somehow they can't? Ridiculous!

Thank you all for the advice! I just got off the phone with Money Network (after waiting on hold for 45 minutes...) and requested a replacement card with expedited shipping. They confirmed my address was correct but admitted there might have been a 'processing delay' with my original card. They're charging me $15 for the expedite fee, which is annoying, but at least I should have it in 3-5 business days. Will definitely set up direct deposit the SECOND I get access to my funds!

•Glad to hear you got it sorted out! Just be aware that you'll need to activate the card and create a PIN before you can transfer funds to your bank account. The whole process is unnecessarily complicated, but you're on the right track now.
