EDD hasn't combined wages from different states - how to fix?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment benefits. The EDD hasn't combined my wages from different states, and it's really messing up my benefit calculation. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do when I finally get through to them on the phone?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I had the same issue last year. Here's what worked for me: 1. Gather ALL your documents. Pay stubs, W2s, everything. 2. When you get through, explain calmly but firmly that your wages haven't been combined. 3. Ask them to initiate a wage investigation. 4. Follow up religiously. These things can fall through the cracks. 5. If they give you the runaround, ask to speak to a supervisor. It took me about 6 weeks, but I finally got it sorted. Good luck!

•This is solid advice! 👍 I'd add: keep a log of every call, including the name of who you spoke to. It helps if you need to escalate later.

•6 weeks?! 😱 I've been waiting for 3 months already. This system is so broken.

•Yeah, it can vary a lot. I got lucky with a really helpful agent on my third call. Keep pushing!

have you tried reaching out to your state representatives? sometimes they can light a fire under EDD's a**

Omg I'm in the exact same boat! 🚣♀️ Been trying to get my out-of-state wages added for weeks. This whole process is a nightmare. Let me know if you figure out a good solution!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold last week!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds sketchy. Is it legit?

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo.

•How long did it take to get through?

•It took about 2 hours for me, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was on the line.

Just a heads up, there's been a lot of changes to how EDD handles multi-state claims lately. Make sure you're looking at the most up-to-date info on their website before you call. They changed some procedures last month and a lot of the advice online is outdated now.

Has anyone had luck with the online portal for this kind of issue? I've been trying to avoid calling if possible.

•Online portal is useless for complex stuff like this. You gotta call, trust me.
