EDD Account Issues: Multiple Problems, Can't Reach a Rep. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having some serious issues with my unemployment benefits application. There are multiple problems with my account and I can't seem to get through to anyone at EDD. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to actually speak to a representative?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD system is a total nightmare right now. I've been trying to get through for weeks. It's like they don't want us to actually get our benefits šŸ™„

Seriously! It's like they're purposely making it difficult. I've heard some people have had luck calling right when they open, but I haven't had any success with that either.

Have you tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes they respond faster there, believe it or not.

Thanks for the tips! I'll give social media a shot. At this point, I'm willing to try anything 😩

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Wow, that sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

Idk man, paying to get through to a government agency seems sketchy. Are you sure it's legit?

I get the skepticism, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I was desperate enough to give it a shot. Totally worth the $20 imo.

Can you give more details about how it works? Like, do you have to give them your personal info?

Nah, you just put in the number you want them to call and pay. They do all the waiting and menu navigation, then connect you when a real person picks up. No personal info needed beyond your phone number.

Here's what I've learned from my experience with EDD: • Call early in the morning, like right when they open • Be persistent and keep calling even if you get disconnected • Have all your information ready before you call • Try different numbers - sometimes the UI number works better than the main EDD number • If you get through, ask for a callback number in case you get disconnected It's a frustrating process, but don't give up! You'll get through eventually.

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try calling right when they open. Do you know what time that is?

They open at 8am Pacific Time, Monday through Friday. Good luck!

have you tried faxing your documents? sometimes that works better than trying to upload them online. the system is so buggy šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

I'm in the same boat, OP. Been trying to get my identity verified for weeks now. This whole system is a joke. How are we supposed to survive when we can't even access our benefits? 😔

Preach! šŸ™Œ The government needs to get its act together. We're in a pandemic for crying out loud!

For real! It's like they forgot we're actual people trying to survive, not just numbers in their system.

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the phone, try contacting your local state representative's office. They often have direct lines to EDD and can help escalate your case.

Wow, I never thought of that! How do I find out who my local rep is?

Just google '[your city] state representative' and it should come up. Most have contact forms on their websites. Good luck!

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes important EDD emails end up there. Also, make sure you're certifying for benefits every two weeks, even if your claim is pending.

Thanks for the reminder! I'll double-check my spam folder. And yeah, I've been certifying religiously, just in case.

Anybody else notice that the EDD website is always 'under maintenance' when you actually need to use it? šŸ™„ It's like they're trolling us at this point.
