EDD charged me again for overpayment after submitting docs - What to do?
Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my unemployment benefits. I got charged again for an overpayment, even though I already submitted documentation to EDD about it. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do next? I'm really frustrated and could use some advice.

Ugh, that sucks! I've been dealing with EDD for months now and it's a total nightmare. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that's the only way to get things sorted out.

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold last week.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Got through in about 2 hours instead of days of trying.

•I get it, but for me it was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. Time is money, ya know?

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep copies of all your submissions and correspondence with EDD. 2. File an appeal if you haven't already. You can do this online or by mail. 3. Contact your local state representative. They often have staff dedicated to helping with EDD issues. 4. If you can get through on the phone, ask to speak with a tier 2 specialist. They have more authority to resolve complex issues. 5. Consider seeking legal aid if the overpayment is significant and you're having trouble resolving it. Remember, you have rights and EDD has to follow proper procedures. Don't give up!

Not to be that guy, but are you sure you filled out all the forms correctly? I thought I did everything right and turns out I missed a crucial checkbox. Double check everything!

This happened to my cousin last month. Turns out it was a glitch in their system. Keep pushing and don't let them brush you off!
