EDD benefits messed up due to vacation pay and pay cut - help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my unemployment benefits. My employer gave me 40 hours of vacation pay during the EDD waiting period, but now they've cut my pay to 30%. I'm worried this might have messed up my benefits. Has anyone dealt with something similar? What should I say when I call EDD about this?

Ugh, that sucks. The EDD system is so confusing sometimes. Have you tried explaining the situation to them? Maybe something like: "I received vacation pay during the waiting period, but now my pay has been reduced. How does this affect my benefits?" Good luck!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ
