EDD debit card delay and missing benefits: 2 months approved, no card, 4 weeks uncertified. Help?

Has anyone else been waiting forever for their EDD debit card? I got approved like 2 months ago but still haven't gotten it in the mail. On top of that, I'm missing benefits for 4 weeks because the system wouldn't let me certify. I was definitely unemployed during that time too. It's so frustrating! Anyone know how to get this fixed?

I found a way to solve EDD debit card delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jq5m-wVPJiQ

Same boat here. Missing weeks and no card. It's like they want us to starve or something. The whole system is broken af.

Have you tried contacting your local representative? Sometimes they can help speed things up.

It's worth trying the EDD online chat too. Sometimes you might get through faster there than with phone calls.

Serious question: has anyone actually received their card in a timely manner? Or are we all just stuck in EDD purgatory together? πŸ€”

I got mine after only 3 weeks! ...but then it took another 2 months for any money to show up on it πŸ™ƒ

EDD purgatory is real. I'm convinced time moves differently there.

It's rare, but some people do get their cards on time. It's just that the system is too inconsistent.

Has anyone tried sacrificing a goat to the EDD gods? Might be more effective than calling at this point 🐐

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything: Write down all the weeks you're missing and any attempts you've made to contact EDD. 2. Call persistently: Try calling right when they open or just before they close. Keep trying different days. 3. Check your address: Make sure EDD has your correct mailing address for the debit card. 4. Request retroactive certification: When you get through, ask about certifying for those missed weeks. 5. Consider contacting your state representative: They might be able to help push things along. 6. Use the online portal: Sometimes you can request a new card or update info there. 7. Be prepared: Have all your info ready when you call (claim number, dates, etc.) Remember, stay calm but firm. Good luck!

This is super comprehensive! Just wanted to add that keeping a log of your attempts can also help if you decide to escalate the matter to higher authorities.

Pro tip: if you whisper "unemployment benefits" three times into a mirror at midnight, an EDD rep will appear and ignore your calls in person πŸ‘»

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

How long did it take to get through using this service?

It took about 2 hours, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They called me when an agent picked up.

Claimyr seems helpful, but it's a shame we have to resort to paying for what should be a straightforward service.

I swear EDD is run by a bunch of clowns 🀑 How hard is it to mail a card and process claims properly? We're not asking for the moon here!

It might help if EDD had a more user-friendly system. Maybe they need to partner with some successful tech companies.

Plot twist: EDD is actually a social experiment to see how long people can survive without money. We're all just lab rats in their twisted game πŸ€

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD system is a total mess. I had to wait 3 months for my card! Have you tried calling them? It's a nightmare to get through, but it's probably your best bet.

I heard early morning is best, like right when they open. But honestly, it's still a crapshoot. Good luck!

Also, try calling on less busy days like mid-week. It might increase your chances of getting through.

Yo, I had the same issue with missing weeks. When I finally got through, they told me it was a "glitch in the system" πŸ™„ Like, fix your glitches, people! We got bills to pay!
