EDD funds not loading after certification - anyone else experiencing delays?

Hey everyone, I'm getting really frustrated with EDD. I certified for benefits yesterday but my funds still haven't loaded onto my card. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm usually able to access my money right away after certifying. I'm worried because I have bills due soon and I'm counting on this money. Any ideas on what might be causing the delay or what I should do?

I found a way to solve EDD payment delay issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7XWu4eLGpc

Ugh, I feel you. The same thing happened to me last month. It's so stressful when you're counting on that money and it doesn't show up when it's supposed to. Have you tried checking your EDD account online to see if there's any info about the delay?

Yeah, I checked my account but there's nothing there about a delay. It just shows that I certified yesterday. I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens 😓

Sometimes the system glitches and doesn't update right away. Give it another day or two before you start panicking. EDD can be slow AF sometimes 🐌

I had this issue a few weeks ago. Turns out there was a hold on my account because they needed to verify some information. Did you get any letters or emails from EDD recently? They might be trying to contact you about something.

No, I haven't received anything from them recently. How long did it take for your issue to get resolved?

It took about a week for me. I had to call them and provide some additional info. Once I did that, the funds were released pretty quickly.

A week? 😱 I hope it doesn't take that long for me. Thanks for sharing your experience tho

Hey guys, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at EDD! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to your phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit? $20 seems like a lot just to make a phone call.

I get the skepticism, but I promise it's legit. I was desperate after trying to call for weeks. The $20 was worth it to finally get my issue resolved.

How long did you have to wait once they connected you? I'm considering trying this but wanna know what to expect.

It took about 2 hours total, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They called me when an agent was on the line. Way better than wasting a whole day trying to get through!

This is ridiculous. EDD needs to get their act together. We're all struggling and they can't even get payments out on time. Has anyone tried contacting their local representative about these issues? Maybe if enough of us complain, something will change.

Before you freak out, double-check that you entered all your info correctly when you certified. I once fat-fingered my SSN and it caused a delay. Also, make sure your claim is still active and you have available benefits. Sometimes the system is slow to update and it looks like you certified but it didn't actually go through.

Thanks for the tips! I'll double-check everything. Fingers crossed it's just a simple mistake 🤞

Pro tip: Set up direct deposit if you haven't already. It's usually faster than waiting for the funds to load onto the EDD debit card. Plus, you can avoid those annoying ATM fees. Just go to your EDD account online and look for the direct deposit option.

This! 💯 Direct deposit is the way to go. I get my funds way faster now.

Does anyone know if you can set up direct deposit to a prepaid card? My bank account is overdrawn and I don't want them to take my unemployment money 😬

Hang in there, OP! We're all in the same boat. The system is broken, but we gotta keep pushing through. Don't be afraid to be persistent with EDD. Sometimes you have to be a squeaky wheel to get the grease, ya know? Keep us updated on what happens!
