EDD payment delay: Submitted time cards 5 days ago, no payment yet. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my EDD payments. I submitted two time cards, one on 11/30 and another on 12/02, but it's been 5 days and I still haven't received any payment. Is anyone else experiencing delays? I'm getting worried because bills are piling up and I really need this money. Any advice on what I should do or who I should contact?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat! 🚢 It's been a week since I submitted my time card and still nothing. EDD is such a mess rn

A week? That's nothing. I've been waiting for almost a month now. This system is completely broken 😤

Have you guys tried calling? Sometimes that helps speed things up

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy. Is it legit?

@profile 5 Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

20 bucks to talk to EDD? That's highway robbery! 🤡

@profile 6 I get it, but when you're waiting on thousands in benefits, $20 to actually get help is worth it. Time is money, ya know?

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check your UI Online account to make sure your time cards were actually received and processed. 2. Look for any notifications or messages from EDD about your claim. 3. If everything looks good on your end, try calling the EDD customer service line at 1-800-300-5616. 4. Be prepared to wait. Call volumes are high, so you might be on hold for a while. 5. If you can't get through, try reaching out via their online contact form. 6. As a last resort, contact your local assembly member's office. They often have liaisons who can help with EDD issues. Remember, patience is key. The system is overwhelmed, but they'll get to your claim eventually. Good luck!

This is great advice. I'd add that keeping a paper trail of all your communications with EDD can be super helpful if things get messy.

Have you checked if there's a hold on your account? Sometimes they put random holds for identity verification or other issues. It's annoying af but it happens

I didn't even know that was a thing! How do I check for holds?

Log into your UI Online account and look for any alerts or messages. If there's a hold, it should show up there. If you see one, you'll prob need to call them to resolve it

Pro tip: try calling right when they open in the morning. I got through after only 20 mins on hold last week doing that

What time do they open? Might have to set an alarm lol

8am Pacific Time. Set that alarm and get that ☕️ ready!
