EDD pending payments after submitting docs - how to speed up process?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I submitted some paperwork to EDD on December 27th for my pending payments, but it's been over a week and I haven't heard anything back. I sent in my photo ID and pay info for the last 6 months. Has anyone else experienced delays like this? Any advice on how to follow up or speed up the process? I'm getting worried about my finances and could really use some help.

Ugh, I feel your pain. EDD is such a nightmare to deal with. I had a similar issue last month and it took them forever to process my docs. Have you tried calling them? That's what finally worked for me.

I've been trying to call but can never get through. It's so frustrating! How long did you have to wait on hold?

Honestly, it took me like 3 hours of constant redialing. I felt like I was losing my mind 🤪 But once I got through, they sorted it out pretty quick.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I'm skeptical. Why should we have to pay to talk to EDD? That's ridiculous!

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me so much time and stress. Worth every penny imo. And yeah, it sucks we have to pay, but I'd rather pay $20 than waste days trying to get through.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Send a follow-up email to EDD explaining your situation 2. Include your claim number and the date you submitted your documents 3. Be polite but firm about needing an update 4. If you don't hear back in 3 business days, try calling 5. Keep a record of all your communications Stay persistent! It's a pain, but you'll get through eventually. Good luck!

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try sending an email. Do you have any tips for what subject line to use?

Sure thing! I used something like "Urgent: Follow-up on Pending Payments - Claim #XXXXXXX". The key is to make it clear and include your claim number right in the subject.

Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes they update the status there before they actually contact you. Might be worth a look!

Good idea, I'll check that right now. Thanks!

I hate to say it, but a week isn't that long in EDD time. I've been waiting for 2 months to get my issue resolved. The system is completely overwhelmed right now.

Barely. Had to borrow money from family and max out my credit cards. It's a nightmare.

This is why we need serious reform in the unemployment system. It's failing the people who need it most. 😡

Pro tip: if you can, try calling right when they open. I got through after only a 20 minute wait last week!

Anyone else notice that EDD seems to be extra slow after holidays? I swear they take forever to catch up every time there's a long weekend.

Omg yes! It's like they forget how to work every time they get a day off 🙄
