EDD PFL Payment Delay: Sent Missing Docs Saturday, No Response - How Long to Process?

I'm having trouble getting paid for my family leave. I sent in some missing information to EDD on Saturday using priority shipping, but I still haven't heard anything back. It's been days and I'm getting worried. Has anyone else had this problem? How long does it usually take for them to process the documents and start payments? I really need this money soon and I'm not sure what else to do. Any advice would be appreciated!

EDD is the worst. I'm convinced they make it hard on purpose to discourage people from claiming benefits. Stay strong, OP!

Yeah, it's like they think they can save money by making the process impossible.

Here's what you need to know about EDD and Paid Family Leave claims: 1. Processing time: Typically takes 5-7 business days after they receive your documents. 2. Verification: Make sure all your info matches exactly what's on your ID. 3. Follow up: If you don't hear back within 10 business days, try to contact them. 4. Online account: Check your UI Online account daily for updates. 5. Mail: Keep an eye out for any letters from EDD requesting more info. Tips: - Double-check that you sent ALL required documents - If possible, fax documents instead of mailing for faster processing - Keep copies of everything you send Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

This is great advice! Wish I had known all this when I first applied. Took me forever to figure it out on my own 🙄

These are solid tips. I'd also add that sometimes they send a letter asking for additional documents, so check your mail frequently.

Claimyr seems like an interesting option, but you could also try the traditional route of emailing or faxing your documents. If you opt for Claimyr, make sure to read reviews and understand their refund policy in case it doesn't work out. The EDD system is notoriously slow, so patience is key, but exploring every possible avenue, including contacting your assembly member or using social media, might offer some relief. Best of luck!

Ugh, the EDD is such a mess rn. I had to wait almost a month after sending in my stuff before I saw any movement on my claim. Hang in there!

A month?! I can't wait that long 😭 Do you know if there's anything I can do to speed it up?

Wish I knew, dude. I tried calling but it was impossible to get through. Maybe try reaching out on social media? Idk if it helps but worth a shot

I heard someone got through by emailing their local representative. Maybe give that a try?

Guys, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds sketchy af. How do you know it's legit?

$20 just to talk to someone?! That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦‍♂️

I get the skepticism, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I was desperate. Worth every penny tbh

I've heard mixed reviews about Claimyr. Some say it's sure-fire, others not so much. Always a good idea to research before spending money.

It's so frustrating! Makes you wonder if they're even working on it or if it's just sitting on someone's desk gathering dust.

Yep, been there! I ended up calling them every day. It was exhausting but eventually got through.

I don't have a fax machine 😕 Do places still offer faxing services?

Some office supply stores do. Or you can use an online fax service. Just google it

Online fax services are really convenient. Also, some apps let you fax directly from your phone.

Maybe try reaching out on Twitter? Sometimes companies respond faster when you call them out publicly 👀

Have you tried contacting your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help speed things up with EDD. Worth a shot!

0 coins

-

Fatima Al-Maktoum

I didn't even know that was an option! How do I find out who my assembly member is?

0 coins

-

Amina Diop

Just google '[your city] assembly member' and it should come up. Their office usually has a form you can fill out for help with state agencies. Good luck!
