EDD call keeps dropping - how to actually check on my money?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to check on some money I'm owed but I'm having trouble getting through. The call keeps dropping and I'm not sure what to do next. Has anyone else had this issue? Any advice on how to actually talk to a real person?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to get through for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to actually get our money 🙄

Weeks? Try months! I swear they're doing this on purpose to save money.

Guys, let's not assume malice. The system is just overloaded. But yeah, it sucks big time.

Have you tried calling right when they open? I had some luck getting through that way, but it still took forever.

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

Yeah, I was skeptical at first too, but I tried it and it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😤

I get it, but for me, it was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. Time is money, you know?

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this for months: 1. Be persistent. Keep calling even if you get dropped. 2. Have all your info ready before you call. 3. Try different times of day. Sometimes early morning or late afternoon is better. 4. Use the online portal if possible for simple stuff. 5. If you do get through, be super nice to the agent. They're probably stressed too. 6. Document everything. Write down who you talked to and when. Hope this helps someone. We're all in this together!

Great advice. I'd add: if you can, use a landline. Cell signals can be iffy and cause drops.

have you tried emailing them? sometimes that works better than calling

I didn't even know they had an email option. Do you have the address?

It should be on their website. But fair warning, it can take weeks to get a response.

KEEP TRYING!!! Don't give up. I finally got through after like 50 attempts. It's exhausting but worth it when you finally get your $$$

Has anyone had luck with contacting their local representative? I've heard that can sometimes help speed things up.

I tried that. They sent a form letter saying they'd look into it, but nothing happened 🤷‍♂️

It worked for me! But it took about a month. Still faster than trying to call tho

pro tip: use multiple phones to call at the same time. increases your chances of getting through lol
