EDD silent phone line - tips for getting info on continued claim?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to get some info on my continued claim but I'm having trouble getting through. I called the number and it was just complete silence. Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips on how to actually talk to someone?

I found a way to solve EDD phone system frustrations, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-If0QFrBtU4

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD phone system is a nightmare. I've been trying to get through for weeks now. It's either silence, busy signals, or getting hung up on. This whole system is broken.

Same here. Its like they dont even want us to get our benefits. So frustrating!

Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard thats the best time to get through.

Yeah, I've tried that. Still no luck. It's like playing the lottery at this point šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Thats kinda steep just to talk to someone...

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I was desperate enough to try anything. It's legit.

Can confirm, I used it too. Saved me hours of frustration.

Here's what I've learned about continued claims after dealing with EDD for months: • You need to certify for benefits every two weeks • Make sure you report any income accurately • If there's an issue with your claim, you might need to call in • Sometimes the online system glitches, so keep trying • If you can't get through on the phone, try contacting them through UI Online • Be patient, the system is overwhelmed right now Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Thanks for the detailed info! Do you know how long it usually takes for them to process a continued claim?

In my experience, it can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks. If there are no issues, it's usually pretty quick. But if they need additional info, it can drag on.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member? They sometimes have direct lines to EDD and can help push your claim through.

This! šŸ‘† My assemblyman's office was super helpful when I was stuck in EDD limbo for months.

Anybody else notice that the EDD website is always "undergoing maintenance" when you actually need to use it? šŸ™„
