This is why I always tell people to get copies of EVERYTHING. Never trust insurance companies or doctors offices to handle your paperwork properly. Learn from this for next time, OP!
idk if this helps, but when i had issues with my disability claim, i found out my state has an insurance commissioner's office. they have a complaint process that can sometimes light a fire under these companies. might be worth looking into for your state!
am i the only 1 who thinks its ridiculous they make new parents jump thru all these hoops? 🤔 the system is broken af
Hey OP, congrats on the little one! 👶 Quick question - are you a teacher or do you work in education? The school break thing makes me think you might be. If so, there are some specific rules that might apply to you.
Yes, I'm actually a part-time college instructor. Do you know what specific rules I should be aware of?
I'm telling you, the whole system is rigged against us. They make it so complicated on purpose so people just give up. 🤬
Hey OP, just a heads up - when I updated my claim for reduced hours, it took about 3 weeks for the changes to take effect. So don't panic if you don't see an immediate change in your benefits.

Unpopular opinion: sometimes it's faster to just start over with a new application. I know it sucks, but after waiting 6 weeks for my doc's cert, I reapplied and got approved in 10 days. YMMV tho

•Woah, really? That's wild. Did you have to get a new medical cert for the second application?

•Yep, had to bug my doc again. But they were quicker the second time around cuz they knew I was in a bind.

Anyone else notice that SDI seems to move faster if you bug them on social media? I tweeted at them every day for a week and suddenly my claim started moving 👀
